I've wanted to draw both of these guys for a long time now, and it dawned on me how cool they would look together in one piece! Half gift art half experiment, using Sunwolf and KaHaTeNi as my lab rats. ^^ A sort of night and day, sun and moon theme. 'Twas a blast to draw! Though the composition is simple, it took me quite some time to finish. More swirly stuff may be added to fill out that blank background space, but for now I think I'll leave it be.

Hope you guys like it!

Thought I'd do a little something with my new markings (minus the stripe down the back) and my two best friends: Mason and my dog (Wolfy). Mason is supposed to be a weird patterned panda... but he looks like a frikkin' badger. ><; Wolfy is a Miniature American Eskimo, my little fuzzy brother and best friend for life.

Can't say I'm super proud of this, but I think it's pretty nifty. I'm an earthy plant chick (thus the green flame), but I dig the red and earth tones, so I don't wear much green. I'm also looking less and less like a wolf as time goes on...

erm, woof! ^^;

"Behind your icy eyes is a soul of fire"

Somewhat of a quickie for trading post #45, McKenzie the spotted hyena. Out of character I think, but it's the first thing that popped in my head when I read the character description. I don't think you'd see this city hyena running around in a belly dancing sort of bikini spouting fire from her fingers... I just had to put in something for this week, not many chubby characters come into play in the trading post.

Random animaly guy from my sketchbook who turned out to be a winged fox lion! Coloured him in for fun. ^^ What's he lookin' at that has him so terrified...?

An incredibly sloppy and quickly done little gouache painting done for colour theory class. My default is canine with crescent moon, so I decided to get REALLY wild and paint a raptor with cresenct moon! ooooh!! ok, I actually like this, but I could have done much better if it wasn't done in a rush the morning of the day it was due...

For yerf trading post numbah 44! This seems to be all I have time for as far as non-school art goes nowadays. I am working on a commission or two in brief intermittent sessions, but I'm really not getting much personal artwork done. Besides, I love this trading post stuff! It's a great excuse to ruin other people's characters with my experimental painting crap.

oh yeah, done in watercolour, gouache and india ink.

This is for my little far away cousin, Anna. She's like my soul sister, my young pack-mate. She's JUST like me when I was that little, wild, uninhibited, a total animal girl. ^^ When she came to visit from Virginia, I didn't baysit her, I hung out with her! It was a blast, pretending to be a wolf, making up games and all that jazz. Man I miss being a kid...

For this week's trading post! Lizardbeth was a pleasure to draw, especially since it was a nice break from school and boredom. Being a reptile, I figured she's like a nice lie in the sun, so I ran with the sun theme and surrounded her with sunflakes! yeah, sunflakes...

This is a fourth of my visual aid for a short speech I have to present on how to use watercolours and coloured pencils. Speech class is a bitch... just like this pretty lass here! She isn't much, but everything else is in the works.

"Sometimes things just hurt..."

Little doodle I did today to avoid doing homework and housework... My markings changed, because I got super bored of being so plain. Dark brown ears, dark ridge running down the spine and ending in dark tipped tail. Also dark nose thingy, you can't really see.

This is the Dragrot: a character concept I pulled out of my ass for my Character and Object Design class. The Dragrot is a cross between a parrot and komodo dragon, making it the ideal guard dog. It has the intelligence, loving nature, and plumage of the parrot and the size, strength and fearsome appearence of a komodo dragon. The Dragrot can discern between friendly folk and unfriendly, trained to recognize threatening or sneaky behavior. You can trust a dragrot to babysit a toddler because of how gentle they are. This particular Dragrot is a female, larger and stronger than the males. All police Dragrot's are female, because Hell hath no fury like a woman's wrath.

I added a little sky background to this older piece in hopes it would increase the chances of it being bought. I am in need of a bit of money lately, so I went through my things from a few months ago and found this. It was inspired by a couple of my friends who were sad at the time.

For this week's trading post over at Yerf, Tarah Fae's caracal tiger mix, Fangs. I had fun doing this one, but it still doesn't look the way I want it to. Originally there was going to be one of my generic firey designs surrounding him eminating from the "rips" in his body. But I didn't have enough time to fill in all that detail before the trading post closed. I think I may be too lazy to fill that in at all.

As a side note, I'm selling a bunch of originals over at Furbid: http://www.furbid.ws/cgi-bin/auction.pl
Check out my deviantart journal for updates on added material.

yes, I CAN draw cats..!

life_tree_VCL.jpg
Image: life_tree_VCL.jpg   864x567 132049 bytes 2004.01.07

This was done as a class project, meant to represent five things important to me:

~art (paintbrush in mouth)
~wolves & animals (me as a wolf)
~family and friends (two ghost things on the sides)
~a stable and growing life (tree)
~something to do with flying (lil' wings and pilot goggles)

When I created it, I was not proud of it at all, thinking it was a total piece of crap. I still don't think it's among my best work. But now that minor changes have been made and it has been bought, I find myself oddly attached to it. It's very obviously a personal piece for me, so it's hard to let go. I am confident the buyer will treat it well and give credit where it's due.

Done with watercolour and coloured pencil on smooth bristol board.

"I thought it was I who was to be the gaurdian, to be the shoulder to cry on. Instead you rose to meet my pain with calm strength and endurance"

The sister drawing to "Shelter you from your rain". Doesn't look as nice because the actual image is very very tiny... Also no spiffy wings here. It was late in the colouring when I decided to try directional lighting, so it doesn't quite look right. Those are shadows of the spikes, not stripes. And again with the designy unrealistic fur texture. I dunno, I just wing it everytime. ^^

"A reminder that I'll always be there to shelter you from your rain..."

My panda boy was having a rough time, so I sketched this for him a while back. Funny thing is he ended up sheltering ME from craziness around that time... I failed to watercolour this twice, so I was pretty shy of this piece for some time. NOT your X-mas present mason! More to come... *plot*

I've been really tired of being a wolf, so much so I decided to be a dragon in this drawing. A sister drawing to this will be coming soon I hope.

funny looking unrealistic panda paws! <3

"Don't touch me and don't let me touch you..."

My secret from the furry fans is that I love armored things, like mechs and robots and well... things in armor. I just can't draw them very well. This is my first successful shot at something in snazzy looking armor. Yes, no tail....

"In meditation she rides the invisible winds of Gaea, giving off the light of her namesake: Spirit."

A trade with Spirit86 of Deviantart. It's been a while coming, because school and holidays really got in the way.

Decided to go for a much finer fur style, still very design-ish and not very realistic. And more with the cool fire energy designs! I love the flow of this one in particular.

"Many speak of being kin to others in the kingdom of animals, sharing spirits with another hot blooded animal. There are those who share a kindrid spirit with the trees of old; they who have watched the births and deaths of many animal generations. Perhaps one day they will witness the fall of a great species, and live to tell new kindrid spirited animals about the past."

This was my final project for my fundementals of design class. We were supposed to use one of the practical elements of design (meaning, representation and function) and I chose representation. Done on smooth bristol, watercolour wash and coloured pencil details.

I decided to take the advice of whoever-it-was-I-forget and watercolour this one. I REALLY wanted to do something else for the trading post, I had this whole awesome thing in my head, but this is all I had time for. I'm fairly pleased with the way this came out, especially since it's my first try at this style of watercolouring.

Re-uploaded with some minor detail changes. My first stab at Yerf's trading post, because it's Bastek's turn this time. I'm cutting it super close here, I hope I can still make it in. Down the the last hours. I've been so busy with school, that I had to cram this in at the last second!

well, I hope Bastek likes it.

Here's a bit of fan art I did for the amazing Sidian Silverhawke: http://sidian.tigerknight.org/

I realize I left out her wings, and details like her jewelry (I didn't want her wings to obscure anything, and there was no room for a drawn-back wingspan), but I hope she likes it. I also just really wanted to draw her dragon self, since the design is so interesting to me.

I ditched school today to finish this. Also to try to clear my head of the previous two days and nights. Even if it's a misunderstanding, feeling abandoned is the worst feeling in the world... Such an intense sadness that it turns into anger.....

I decided to colour some random inks I did a while back, to remind myself of the kind of drawing and colouring I used to do before art school began. Stupid level adjustment killed it... I was too lazy to do it the spiffy looking way.

It's very simple and easy to remember: if you don't want to die or have chunks of you ripped from your flesh, don't touch Shadow Wolf's panda! *protects*

Thought I'd give photoshop colouring another shot, this time I wasn't AS lazy, but still it was somewhat hurried. Got frustrated with the lower half, so all you get it an angry fuzzy face.

Shade gives you a big toothy grin and wishes you a happy Halloween!

Not too happy about the fur texture here. 'twas a bit rushed, done in half a day so I have time for things like homework. Oh well. Belated Halloween drawing, since I was determined to draw one.

I haven't drawn my panda boy in the longest time! I did this in all black pen ('cept the blue eyes, for which I used a blue micron) during class today. Even thought it's not what I was supposed to be doing, I dedicated the entire 4 hours of class to this. took me a bit less though.

I have no crosshatching skills... *pout*
