Lord, isn't this emo! XD Drew this earlier this year to address some anger issues I was having at the time.

It's supposed to represent how anger (the black stuff) comes from deep within yourself, and sometimes you gotta rip into your core to remove it. It can get a little bloody, as you can see. I was also trying to make the connection between Wolf Nymph (this brown wolf) and Shadow Wolf (black wolf linked to in 'more info'), how they are the same character but one is taken over by the essence of power, anger and other dark desires.

and you know, it was also fun to draw. =)

Nothing much to explain here... Wingless dragon version of me, feeling protective even though it's as if I have no right to be. Just needed to get it off my chest is all, and it turnedout somewhat pretty to look at too.

For this week's trading post #61. Aura's golden retriever character, Rip. Every skater eats concrete pretty bad every once in a while. I've seen my brother and his friends get some nasty road rash playing around on the CU boulder campus. Rip bites the dust too, because I had an urge to draw skinned knees.

Yes, I know this is a shoe brand! But I came up with the nickname for my dog Wolfy before I figured out it was a brand name too. When my dog was younger he would get so excited, and run so fast that his little legs would become a blur, and he had to bank like a motorcycle to turn. ^^ I made my first 'rocketdog' image when he was an adolescent dog about 12 and a half years ago, and I've made new ones to hang on my door ever since. This is just the most recent, didn't take me too long, but I figured it was time for a new one.

I've had this character concept in my sketchbook for a while and my head a lot longer, so I finally decided to make something of one of the sketches. This is Rook, another of my mammalian dragons. Rook is Cyrus' best friend and near litter mate, having had grown up together for their entire young lives. They are also sparring partners, but both have their own strengths and weaknesses. Cyrus uses the chain weapons (manriki gazari, unsure of spelling) and Rook uses the kwon tao (spear-like weapon, again unsure of spelling). Man, I can't spell any of the weapons I seem to want to assign to my characters! I should fix that.

Presenting the SACer animal (for those of you who know what I'm talking about). Complete with scruffy hair, caffeine and/or tobacco addictions, funny but spiffy facial hair, partial sideburns, open shirt and ALWAYS the black pants. I guess upon first glance he isn't a pretty thing, but loveable nonetheless. Boulder: the place where friends used to grow on trees. ( and I say "used to" because of the recent lack of personal expression to one another). all well, not lke anyone who reads this will know what I'm talking about

Another watercolour painting from my painting class. I had just finished "Salamandastron" of the redwall series when I made this. This is one of the main characters, Samkin, sneaking along holding the sword of Martin the warrior in his claw. I've taken a break from Redwall since then, now working on the Halo trilogy.

A while back when Bastek won the yerf trading post her character description included bandana wearing... *ponders* Why this came up in my sketchbook recently, I don't know. But I liked the sketch enough to colour it. Perhaps a meeting of minds of a sort? As much of a mind I can have with the blood flow to my brain being cut off by that bandana. ><; When I do wear one, it's usually a star-patterny black scarf, red just seemed to fit here.

My contribution to the Corvids portfolio, featuring many of the same artists who are in the Serpentes portfolio. I was accepted into it last minute, and was able to come up with something I rather like on short notice. This bird is a Bushy-crested Jay, unlocking a secret door for birds hidden in a stone wall. Beautiful bird, a tropical corvid I believe.

Late birthday gift for me friend, Selunca! She's not usually a kitty, but she's been liking of the kitties lately so I drew her as one is a wierd portrait. I've never uploaded a .GIF image before, let alone one with transparencies, so I don't really know how this is going to turn out. So it sucks, sorry I'm a beginner. And if not, then that's sweet. Commission for a good friend of mine, Selunca. This is actually only a detail, the whole piece was a full 18" X 20", way too big to scan in less than four pieces. My first attempts to scan it all failed, so I just left it like this. The entire piece was these two gazing dreamily into one another's eyes, framed in a heart with a swirly blue design bordering it. A real pleasure to create for her. ^^ Thanks sel!

Wild Fuchsia

Mini-commission/character fan art/muse-bitten attempt to rid my brain of images! Did this tonight after a loooong day at school and work, running on five hours of sleep, and after a bunch of homework. For some reason, I just couldn't shut down for bed until I did this! It's for Sepia after I saw her bad-ass character sheet. I could NOT resist the black, brown pink combo in a gryphon especially. Go check out her art, she rocks and is open for commissions! Took about four and a half hours, done in Marker, coloured pencil, and pink highlighter with acrylic highlights on bristol.

So... Now that that's out of my system... I don't feel like explaining, but it's over for now. Let me introduce you to Shadow Wolf, the second half of my fictional identity. Character design is in the utmost beginning stages, more markings and such may be added later. She represents my more aggressive side, my anger and bloodlusty-ness. Sorry to confuse you with this duality, the other (red-brown) wolf is Wolf Nymph. I'll explain all this sometime later...

The embodyment of all my aggression, the feral Shadow Wolf. She started out as a simple snarl sketch, but turned into this. Her markings are expirimental still and I do wish she could've been darker, but I like the way this turned out. I have the color french grey to thank for this.

Thought it was time to have a clear and updated character layout for Shadow Wolf here. I also needed it for the special trading post #52. These are her updated markings, either digitigrade or plantigrade legs work. hand/feet pads optional. So, this is me I guess, minus lopsided nipples and slightely overdone muzzle curve (just realized how weird that looks).

My panda boy was having a rough time, so I sketched this for him a while back. Funny thing is he ended up sheltering ME from craziness around that time... I failed to watercolour this twice, so I was pretty shy of this piece for some time. NOT your X-mas present mason! More to come... *plot*

I've been really tired of being a wolf, so much so I decided to be a dragon in this drawing. A sister drawing to this will be coming soon I hope.

The sister drawing to "Shelter you from your rain". Doesn't look as nice because the actual image is very very tiny... Also no spiffy wings here. It was late in the colouring when I decided to try directional lighting, so it doesn't quite look right. Those are shadows of the spikes, not stripes. And again with the designy unrealistic fur texture. I dunno, I just wing it everytime. ^^
