The Attack
My final project for an animal anatomy class I took this summer. The animal with the spear is Slender Loris, my favorite primate. They don't come in white, but I thought he might be more interesting that way. The cat's face is based off a cougar, but with the fur colour of a tiger and kind of made-up patterning. Leopard inspired, but not really leopard accurate. The birds I feel are a compositional afterthought, since we had to include a bird in our final piece somewhere. They are Black Throated Magpie Jays.

Finally finished this commission for Rose Quoll, which was one of the more "me" commissions I've made. I love the idea of these half humany looking creatures, a little more human than your average anthro. Rose here is a mix between a human, quoll, and an australian magpie. The feather in her hand is modeled a little more after an north american Magpie, but I thought it fit. =3

I was sifting through a pile of papers I think of as "fix or redraw's when I found this character. The original looks way different, but she changed to whatever form my pencil gave her. Originally she looked more like a kitsune mask wearing human, based off of too many hours of playing Majora's Mask when it first came out. ^^;;

Soul Gift
drew this soon after Wolfy had died... I suppose I'm putting it here because it has really powerful emotional content for me. In the moments before his death when I was holdinh him, I don't think I've ever felt worse anguish, pain, fear and helplessness. I wanted to draw something that expressed me holding him in the moments before his death, but without all those horrible feelings.

Trick or Treat
One of my three projects for my Basic illustration class, neglected to scan it until now (now that I have a little time). The assignment was to place an animal in a human role, without anthropomorphizing it a ton, and complete it in either ink, scratchboard, or black and white gouache (so black and white only, no grey tones or colours). So I put a bat in a human child role, trick-or-treating around for bugs. ^^ It was October when I did this, and I was really in the halloween mood. I also wanted to try my hand at gouache again, so this was a small challenge trying to get fine lines with that kind of paint. Fun though!

This here is my fuzzy gargoyle puppy, Trigger (sloppily colored). Since the area where I love switched cable companies and I get Toon Disney now, I've been watching gargoyles almost everytime it's on. It was THE COOLEST show when I was a kid, but without tv I saw it very rarely. I get to even see episodes I've never seen!

Part two of Trikkeh's commission, styled like my two corset pieces I did for Graywolf's Laced portfolio. For sale at AC, if anyone is going by the way. I won't be there, but a lot of my work in portfolios will be. Anyhow, I really like the way the tree trunks turned out on this one. These two projects with Trikkeh have shown me I can do some cool stuff without watercolour as well (these are all marker and coloured pencil). Also Prints are available of these two pieces, permission given by trikkeh because they feature her character.

recently had a dream where I was an ace in a game a lot like hacksign, except set in all the laters of hell, purgatory and heaven. This was what my character looked like, basically. I remember getting stabbed by another player who didn't mean to, and got all sad about it. He smeared the markings around my eyes, like it was some wierd silver paint. It didn't look like this, but how the hell am I suppoesed to draw smeared paint-like silver markings?!?

Little messy things I made in my sketchbook in an effort to drill happy thoughts into my head. Though it didn't quite work, I like the outcome. Turned Cyrus and I into little chinchilla-somethings for some romping, and doodled up something close to my old prom dress. My dress is actually much darker, doesn't have those spiffy bell things on it, and I didn't look as cool in it as my little make-believe chica does. mmmyep.

A while back I lost my mind and this was the result. It may not look all that ugly to you, but to me it's all the bad things inside of me on paper. I hate to even look at it. A Zarathus inspired dragon from last night. Looks all snarly and vicious right? or like he smells something bad. wrong! he's fleming. for those of you who don't know your zoology, that's when an animal opens up it's mouth like this and smells the air deeply to detect a ready mate.

This piece I have had in mind for quite some time, since a couple years ago when my mother's father (my grandfather Jack Ursetta) passed away. Ursetta means "little bear" in Italian, thus the relatively small looking bear. My grandfather was also an incredible gardner and specialized in roses. Because the symbol of the bear and the experiences with nature and gardening my mom, aunts and uncle had as kids, this is a very powerful combination for them. In fact two of my aunts have gotten tattooos of some variation of the rose and bear since my grandfather's death. So this christmas I'm giving my mother this original and giving each household a professional print (matted and framed).

Ah, a nice release of personal art inbetwixt commissions... =3 It's been a long time since I've drawn this guy, but he's very prevalent in my dreams (never in my nightmares, despite this title). Like Marvel's Venom, he has a white chest symbol as well, but I didn't include it here because it's just not a very good image to display his markings. Hey, can anybody take a wild guess on which villain I am hoping the next Spider Man flick will feature!?!?! God I love venom... I'll be a rabid cannibalistic raging Spidey fan if it isn't Venom in the third movie. ;___;

I really miss all my warrior and hero pics. I very much like this one's design. She (yes, she) is the hero version of my were self, war paint and all. I usually have a manriki gazari (unsure on spelling), which is a chain weapon in kung fu, strapped to my waist. I am also accompanied by the two spirits of my sword, which I only use if I'm fighting a VERY strong opponent since it's such a powerful sword. maybe I'll draw more of her sometime.

The frog is the health indicator of Nature, dying when there is poison in the Earth's waters, skies and soil. Pay close attention to how many frogs you hear singing each spring, for their sensativity to the planet's balance will tell you if you breath the poison too.

my latest bristol, featuring the two main characters of my story, Sussurus. No, they do not have names as of yet, but I still love to draw them. This is also my first try at drawing any boy parts at all, and I preferred to draw wolf boy parts (since it seemed easier). only thing about this I don't like is the very tippy top of his ear is cut off a bit.
