I have mixed feelings about 'Happy Feet'. I think it was improperly marketed as a children's movie....it was too long, had no less than four seperate political undertones, and the plot lacked a lot of originality.

A bizzare thing that came out of the sketch-group this week. The idea for him came to me last night. I fear a story on the horizon. Damn.

The similarities between Emily and Starbuck kind of worry me. Both are snarky little blond girls, with a fracked up right knee, and pilots.

The only thing for it was a flightsuit based off that horrid brown/blue color scheme. Whoever designed those boots needs a good whack with a champagne bottle filled with acid.

Kitton's been doing a mixed media project of late. So I was like 'zomg cool' and tried my hand at something.... I guess it's a little more orderly, which kinda defeats the purpose of letting loose in mediumn ;) I learned a few things... Like you can't use alcohol based markers on wrapping paper. That half my Tria's are dry. And that I really don't have a clue ^^ Ink, marker, wrapping paper, newsprint, and I guess you can still see some of the pencil lines. Sedia and artwork belong to me

Not quite as neat and orderly as 'The Roadside', but supposed to be somewhat the same idea. This was a quicker drawing done over a few hours in Photoshop. Anatomical errors whoopie.

It's occured to me that I've been drawing Winterwing/Wildwing's beaks far, far too short. Blah.


I realize that without context, this image becomes somewhat suggestive, and you'll just have to deal with it. It comes from the same storyline as the Roadside peice, except a little over a year down the road (it occurs to me that their hair grows really, really fast. teheoops).

I'm just no good at drawing men. This took me so long to finally sit down and do. I'm a little ashamed of myself. At least it's done. I think this is better than my last of the same character, at least, so perhaps a little good came out of it.

I admire http://fealasy.deviantart.com 's work, in that it looks deceptivly simple for the message it has. I got a vision of Emily's arm, and while I don't think this was the setting it was supposed to be in (one can never be sure with inspiration), this puts me a lot closer to actual self expression than normal.

I've owed art to the FAX2 community for a while, so I nabbed a character who didn't get art last month from their secret-santa-ish person.

Her creator's reference pictures seemed to give her a more humanoid face, so I went with that. I don't even know how many times I had to redraw this thing before I got it scanned in. Blaerg!

The best part was when I had to take a break to spend 2.5 hours on my drawing homework (ps, 6.5 hours to go).

Anyway, Cali's been giving my little Tauren warrior new toys, and in the same night reminded me of my tria markers :D And quite clearly earned (bribed?) this. This would have been so, so much simpler with a working skin tone. I don't lile parts of it... but really, there's too much ink used on it to not show it :P

Felt a need to do something different from what I have been of late. You think that sword is confusing? Try coming up with a scabbard for it. Whats this thing with ducks and swords suddenly? A nice change anyway, I think.

Has anyone found the 'stop sucking' button in Photoshop yet? I think it's next to the lens flare, but I'm not sure. It certainly would make things a lot easier :P

Lately... I've been feeling like my art is a little formulaic. So after erasing and redrawing about 15 times today, I did an image search for 'Katana fight'. I'm not sure the ref I used had anything to do with real katana fights, as the two japanese men appeared to be using loaves of bread while wearing hoodies... or something similar.... really it looks to me a little like he's doing a ho-down. But eh, I like it, a nice change of pace. AND I've owed this to his owner for a long, long time.

I musta redrawn this TWELVE TIMES before I finally got a version I liked, and I pledge to you, one day, I shall learn to draw! But next month, and I'm pretty sure that, between finals, figure drawing, printmaking, NaNoWriMo, and commissions, I'm going to have myself a more than superficial hand injury soon (hurray).

Anyway, something marked off my commissions list. Whoooo.... Hopefully I'll be forgiven for messing with his outfit ^^

It makes you think that perhaps there is some hope after all.

I do one of these every two years. This kept me occupied while I waited for a reply on a sketch I sent to my commissioner. Emily's changed.

She isn't followed by a swarm of lens flares anymore. It's strange how I have more or less the same outfit/configuration, and yet the beginning and end (for now) are so different.

Just something where myself and 5 other artists of the duck variety chose a color. Most everyone chose emotional qualities. Red being something of a lustful AND insane emotion, I'd rather just stick to the horrid color itself. This isn't the 'final' version, as that had to have a white background, btu I found that ruined a lot fo the contrast of saturation and non. So, grey it is.

I don't much like red. Working with RL pigment, red is one of the weakest, and hardest for factories to fix correctly. Most reds I come accross are faded or icky. PLUS red is one of the first colors to fade from images, or painted rooms, etc.

Red's all nice when you first look, but what primitive uncouthness lies benethe?

Like 'Fizz', this was sketched out during my time at job-of-hell and abandoned. Can you tell I felt a little..... icky?

Anyway. There was text, once, but it's been far too long foor me to remember or care. This kinda turned into an expiriment with atmosphere and lighting, and I'm loving how resizeing/jpging ruinged it. Oh well.

Collaboration between myself and Michelle Latta . I'm liking this one a lot more than our previous ones... because I think the coloring style I chose better fits her linework than my usual 'OMG EVERY DETAIL POSSIBLE'-ishness.

Anyway, her linework, my colors. Any stupid, squiggly lines in the background that don't fit in with the others are mine, because I'm a failure at inking. Whoot.

It's already been pointed out that's it looks a little dark, but all I can say it looks fine to me and next time YOU can color it :P I didn't want garish colors! I got over those when I turned 14 XD
