For Z-Cat, the 8000th hit to my website. The last 4 hits or so I've offered, Z's always missed it by 1 or 2, heartily complaining to me each time. At last, he is satisfied, and now dances with his free picture in hand. I tried a new coloring style, I guess I like how it turned out. The background is an hour speed painting, the snow and cobblestones was another fortyfive minutes or so. The character took some time too ;) I'm happy, it's not often I can finish coloring in a day anymore... especially on something so complicated ^^ Varian is © Nick Bliss

Those of you who realize that my last kiriban upload was entitled 12345... honestly, I promise I know how to count.

I'm just no good at drawing men. This took me so long to finally sit down and do. I'm a little ashamed of myself. At least it's done. I think this is better than my last of the same character, at least, so perhaps a little good came out of it.

Felt a need to do something different from what I have been of late. You think that sword is confusing? Try coming up with a scabbard for it. Whats this thing with ducks and swords suddenly? A nice change anyway, I think.

Has anyone found the 'stop sucking' button in Photoshop yet? I think it's next to the lens flare, but I'm not sure. It certainly would make things a lot easier :P

I'm not actually sure what would compell someone to stand on a streetcorner in downtown LA, lean back, and ignore the searing paint of a lightsaber in your butt (and not notice that the lightsaber isn't casting any light). And yet. Here we are. A late birthday image for her owner. The first inked background I've ever tried. Yes. I know the perspective is off. Damn you and your vanishing points.

Not quite as neat and orderly as 'The Roadside', but supposed to be somewhat the same idea. This was a quicker drawing done over a few hours in Photoshop. Anatomical errors whoopie.

It's occured to me that I've been drawing Winterwing/Wildwing's beaks far, far too short. Blah.


I realize that without context, this image becomes somewhat suggestive, and you'll just have to deal with it. It comes from the same storyline as the Roadside peice, except a little over a year down the road (it occurs to me that their hair grows really, really fast. teheoops).

Recently I've found the wonderful doodlage of the Bic pen, to the point where I think I may have to pull out a new sketchbook specifically for them, so I don't like, waste my good ones on it XD Anyway, concept art for a project I... may never, ever get to. I've been hiding the rest of the concept art behind friends-locked journal filters... but this one I liked enough to share around. Concept work for a joint comic me and my 'buds' are planning, with the working name of 'Blue's a Funny Color'. If she's so wannabe goth you think your head will explode, then good. She's supposed to be a parody of all those types you find in the furry universe. (you know who you are). She's a Raven, btw. I suppose it'd be funnier if she were like, a bluebird, but tough :P

When I first created Emily, perhaps 7 years ago now, she was more of a hyperactive thing, only angry when she was separated from her coffee mug. But then, around '01, she started turning into something far more malicious and perhaps... evil? Anyway, despite her movement away from a Mary-Sue type character, her common sense hasn't improved much. Oh, and you can blame the Simpsons for the idea of the carpet and the bridge. Yes, it IS TV's fault 9.9 This is a fast one, keep in mind if you wish to critique.

Commission that's been in progress for a *long* time, at last complete. Inspired mostly by late-night tiredness (you know how it works). Background most definatly done with photo reference. Emphasis on complimentary color. Celeste is © her owner.

I admire http://fealasy.deviantart.com 's work, in that it looks deceptivly simple for the message it has. I got a vision of Emily's arm, and while I don't think this was the setting it was supposed to be in (one can never be sure with inspiration), this puts me a lot closer to actual self expression than normal.
