I do one of these every two years. This kept me occupied while I waited for a reply on a sketch I sent to my commissioner. Emily's changed.

She isn't followed by a swarm of lens flares anymore. It's strange how I have more or less the same outfit/configuration, and yet the beginning and end (for now) are so different.

I realized later that I should have had her profile infront of me as I drew... so now Rave can show it to people as a ref image and tell them exactly what Emily did wrong 9.9

Lately... I've been feeling like my art is a little formulaic. So after erasing and redrawing about 15 times today, I did an image search for 'Katana fight'. I'm not sure the ref I used had anything to do with real katana fights, as the two japanese men appeared to be using loaves of bread while wearing hoodies... or something similar.... really it looks to me a little like he's doing a ho-down. But eh, I like it, a nice change of pace. AND I've owed this to his owner for a long, long time.

Mythology buffs tell us that the hellcat is much easier to spot than it's common cousin, the housecat, though they neglect to say why. Unfortunatly, the animal appears to thrive in the deeply poisonous decay of a dying world, amoung lava and sulfur and carbon dioxide, so they are quite hard to study and perhaps best left alone anyway. Collaboration between myself and Michelle Latta . I'm liking this one a lot more than our previous ones... because I think the coloring style I chose better fits her linework than my usual 'OMG EVERY DETAIL POSSIBLE'-ishness.

Anyway, her linework, my colors. Any stupid, squiggly lines in the background that don't fit in with the others are mine, because I'm a failure at inking. Whoot.

It's already been pointed out that's it looks a little dark, but all I can say it looks fine to me and next time YOU can color it :P I didn't want garish colors! I got over those when I turned 14 XD

A painting I did two days ago in...well, Painter. It was more a study on leather than anything else, but now that it's this far, it probably needs a background. Within 5 minutes of uploading it to Devart some guy faved it, so yeah, I decided to give her eyebrows... I mean, if people are going to fav it, she may as well have eyebrows :P

But next month, and I'm pretty sure that, between finals, figure drawing, printmaking, NaNoWriMo, and commissions, I'm going to have myself a more than superficial hand injury soon (hurray).

I think this counts as a Halloween costume XD While the rest of the world partied, I spent Halloween stealing manpants (and wearing them, because you know, that's what they're for). Manpants turn out to be very comfortable, so they have not been returned. NYAH! Emily is © me.

Kitton's been doing a mixed media project of late. So I was like 'zomg cool' and tried my hand at something.... I guess it's a little more orderly, which kinda defeats the purpose of letting loose in mediumn ;) I learned a few things... Like you can't use alcohol based markers on wrapping paper. That half my Tria's are dry. And that I really don't have a clue ^^ Ink, marker, wrapping paper, newsprint, and I guess you can still see some of the pencil lines. Sedia and artwork belong to me

Playing around with Painter's brush effects and a limited pallet. 5 colors, the blindness was a side-effect I wasn't going for. A lot of symbolism, I'm sure, but I'm too tired to real ly, truly notice. Emily and Mylie are © me
