Zoological Colour Wheel

Acrylic Anteater

I decided to try my hand at painting on some canvas paper with acrylics, using one of my favourite Xenarthra's, the Giant Anteater.

Spurred on after viewing some disastrous art pieces in an art shop window on canvas. So, this was more about prooving to myself that I can use other materials than watercolour and pencil crayon.

Welcome Autumn

Another little something that has been hiding in-between the pages.

I was inspired to finish this after I viewed a Disney movie called 'Never Cry Wolf', a great film, I recommend it to all! The original picture I referenced from had the wolf laying in snow, but since, I <3 Autumn/Fall with a passion, I decided to change the seasons.

So here we have a wolfy, napping amongst the leaves of Autumn/Fall, in the dusk sun.

Another piece with FAR too many layers, atleast I picked the right paper this time! XD

Originally for icongangyzgirl, winning my '20,000 views competition' sometime back, she has been VERY patient during the process, so thanks for that :)

OK, piece explanation:

Two of her homemade characters, Jade the vampire on the left VS his nemesis Tony Vego, the Chorite Vampire Hunter, on the right.

The weapon Tony is wielding is a kinda shock stick, I saw them in the referenced picture drawn by Gangyz and thought a giant cattle prod would be a pretty deadly weapon for a vampire. Why not just slay him, you ask? Well the Chorites have a "Don't Kill" policy, despite the complete hate between the two, Tony refuses to kill Jade, but give him the shock of his life.

Hallow Lady: Lycan

The project is called 'Halloween Ladies' where I was meant to draw all of the stereotyped characters associated with Halloween (wolfman, mummy, vampire etc) and feminise them. I have pencilled and inked all of them, not they need to be completed.

Kitsune

This began as an image that popped into my head one evening and I had to draw it directly right then and there!

I have always had a passion for ancient folklore, from any side of the globe and I had been meaning to draw something Kitsune related ever since my trip to Tokyo last year.

The Tanuki/Raccoon Dog was a secondary idea, as I wanted to involve a native animal to Japan. The Tanuki has a very strong image within Japanese folklore of a shape-shifting creature that plays mischief for kicks, so I thought they'd fit right along with this kitsune in the ancient surroundings.

Oh, those lanterns took SO LONG to make glowey.

Possibly expect more of this 'folklore' line-up, we'll see if I have the patience! XD

There Goes My hero

Listening to the song "My Hero" by Foo Fighters (Which is one of my faves from the Foo's) and sitting with a pencil in my hand, I decided to draw a picture to go with the music.

So, I came up with this visual...

A male Musk Ox chasing a Grey Wolf from his herd.
People over look grazing animals as being heros, but they spend most of their lives defending their one drive in life; their herd.

Good luck Mr Wolfy, better try next time.

Damn, I luuurve those Musk Ox.

I'm mainly proud of this piece due to the fact I used no reference what-so-ever, until it came to the colouring :)
