I used to have a border collie, god I loved that dog. I drew this as a reprieve from a nasty artist's block and it made me really happy.\n

My father used to tell my brother and I stories when we were little of a great mystical beast called the Great Garphoon. At one point, he made the stories into a book, which was never published. I kept telling him I'd illustrate it, but over the years, I kept getting better and the old drawings just looked like crap. So I never really did illustrate it. This picture is actually kinda old (about July or August '00). I did it for Goldie during one of our all night drawing sessions, and she had the original. I did this picture for a friend at the haunted house I worked at. He said it was one of his characters (he had a voice for it and everything). The face and hand is from a Magic: The Gathering card, I expanded it to make the body, etc.\r\n\n

I felt like drawing a griffon, but I didn't want to do the plain old lion/eagle combo. So I did something a little more unique.\n
