Don't think I got Al's (Lily's) eyes right. With the way the eyes are done in 'Last Exile', its kind easy to have them not looking in the correct direction. As a result, I think I made her pupils too large. Arg! But I think I nailed Dios (Rose) pretty well. Desert Rose & Lily are copyright Christina "Smudge" Hanson 2004.

After taking it to the photographer's twice(it's too large for tiled scanning) I finally have a version that I can make prints from that is color correct. I think every animator and their brother has worked the Preston Blair Strut In-between exercise, so I thought I'd go ahead and get in out of my system. So, I grabbed my goofing around test model, Desert Rose, and started in. Three weeks later, I think I'm starting to take this a little too far.... The rose she's standing on is from a Dover book of stainglass wildflowers. I know I've used it in other pics but it worked too well not to use it here too. Did this to test out a few rigging and texture things. Some worked, some didn't. But that was the entire point now, wasn't it? The rose she's standing on was scanned out of a Dover book, then modified for CG.

When Phall first moved in with Andre, the bath was in complete shambles and it took a lot of coaxing to convince Andre that it really was worth renovating. This is a side of Rose you don't see very often. Cool, sharp and distant; yes. But motherly? Well, at lest she's not hollow. Maybe having a kid was a good thing for her. I have no idea where this picture came from. I just do what my characters tell me to do....
