Desert Rose in Ship-Jumper

Character Design of Desert Rose in her ship-jumper. More of a Costume Design than Character Design since I've had the model of Rose for quite some time and have used her for various test anims and motion studies.

'Bureau of Mana Investigation' Cover #1, 11"x17" Acylic/Mixed Media. Title says it all. Rather happy with the work on this one dispite the fact that I fell like I'm pulling teeth every time I work in acrylic. FYI, the badge in the background was done in 3D (Hash Animation:Master), touched up in Photoshop, printed out on high quality watercolor paper (Fabriano Uno, hot press), then the characters were painted traditionally over the top. 'Cocktail Rose', 8˝"x11", Mixed Media. Desert Rose at a cocktail party. I'm rather pleased with how the dress came out considering I was originly thinking she was wearing a red dress. When it turned green, I have no clue but I think the picture is better for it.

This is a side of Rose you don't see very often. Cool, sharp and distant; yes. But motherly? Well, at lest she's not hollow. Maybe having a kid was a good thing for her.

I have no idea where this picture came from. I just do what my characters tell me to do....

'Yellow Tigeress' 4"x6" Watercolor.

This was my Demo Painting for the Further Confusion 2005 Watercolor class. Typically, I run the panel as a hand's on workshop, but things didn't work out that way this year. So instead, I did this as a demo at the last minute. For a quick throw-together it came out all right. Finished the entire painting during the panel too. Yeah!

So Ahpid and Shrimpette were talking on the guild channel referring to their respective Voidwalkers as "Big Blue" and, well, That immediately conjured images of "the Big Blue".
