Cat-Woman on the Moon?: 1993, pencil. This is one of those pics that jumps into your mind and you put it down on paper and it kinda grows from there... It's not really a hat, I guess - the "hat" has eyes and the figure doesn't, representing the cat-girl's "true" nature (she is a shapeshifter). Note the "Synn-spots" under the eyes. As for the neck-ruff-fur - some people complain about "spiky" or "clumpy" fur being a cliché in werewolf/shifter art, but I did it that way years back, too. Why? It's an easy and fun way to draw fur, is all, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to feel that way. :) It's ART, after all - it SHOULD be FUN! If you like it, do it, and don't worry about what other people think.

Steph n'Wolf: 1994 pencil (with apologies to Herman Hesse). I tried to give this little sketch a feeling of warmth and dimension.

Jaguar-type-woman: 1993, pencil. She's female, despite the lack of obvious sexual characteristics (her face is more feminine in the actual sketch). Note her body is bulit for two- or four-legged locomotion, and she has almost hand-like (but still sharp-clawed) front paws. Often, my anthro (were, furry, whatever) type-characters are much more "animal" than "human", but I appreciate all kinds! :D

Aztec Cat: 1995 pen sketch. I had been doing research for my senior thesis project, and this is what sprang to mind. He was a model for the "J for Jaguar" piece I did later, but his body here is more stylized, and lithe and leopard-like. Note the Synn-like symbolic 7 rings on the tail.

Spirit/Ghostwolf: 1993, pencil. This one started out as a ghost-wolf (it was just going to be white, with few details) but I got lost in the ripply fur-patterns. It's more of a representation of the feeling you might have running through the forest on a winter night... your heart thumping, the ground thudding beneath your paws, vapor curling from your muzzle as you drink in the cold night air... um, if you were a werewolf, anyway. ;D Looking back at it more than a decade later, it looks sort of horse-like! Oh, well...

Wyld-Darkwolf (Shahn-Tarra): 1993 pencil sketch. I never really got into roleplaying, but I did use Wyld in AOL's old Red Dragon Inn in the early 90's. She's usually black, but here she's white-pelted. Though I do not play "Werewolf: The Apocalypse", for those of you who do, she could be described as a Lupus Stargazer Ahroun, whose preferred form is Hispo. The feathers are not "spirit feathers" - they're supposed to be metal jewelry. The cat-eye-like forehead ornament and the dots under her eyes represent the fact that she's mine, like Synn.
