I know we've been working on the Jake back story the last couple of months (the next installment will be up by Friday btw) but this gem of a gag-strip idea was emailed to us by a fan of the comic was too good to pass up and we're working on a follow up. The story behind this is true would you believe (as I heard a version of it on Friday listening to a local DJ) but the final gag belongs to Nudge-Nudge. Thanks man!

Jake's Story (part 5)

"Dela the Hooda: The Prequel" continues as this story about Jake and how he came to meet Sue continues as he goes on a date with Daphne, the lady who was Sue's housemate before Dela landed in Peabow. Yah, I know, a bunch of domesticated house-apes so far--the furry types haven't appeared yet in the tale.

Jake's Story

Once again getting caught up in work, it's time to return to story, already in progress with Jake and Daphne hitting it off. And if you have to ask, this story largely takes place *before* Dela's arrival on Earth so furry type characters won't be appearing until later on in the story.

Yes, I know there is a continuity error with Sue's glasses from page one of the story. Greg pointed it out half-way through the coloring. So sorry, there aren't any No-Prizes if you already spotted it before you read this.

Lilac Model Sheet

More model sheet madness, this time of Lilac who is determined to prove that hobbits can be sexy. Oddest thing was after seven years of me drawing her, she never really had a full personality until "Strip Poker" when she became a perfect foil for the other characters to play off of. Lilac's become the cheerfully bubble-headed and yet wise and perceptive girl that makes you wonder how much her "dumb-girl" personality is really an act (I had someone like that as a lab-partner in High School, honestly). She's certainly the innocent sort that is impossible to stay mad at.

Another flashback story with the characters for "Dela the Hooda", this time the relationship between Jake and Sue before Dela's arrival on Earth. Warning: story has very little to do with furries until the end, but I hope you'll still willing to come on the Magical Mystery Tour with us.

A follow up on "Edith's Story", this one is about Jake and how things came to be at the house on Parkhill Street. Mentioned in past strips, here is Daphne, Sue's former roommate and Jake's old girlfriend and how they met one autumn day.

Jake's Story (page 1)

Start of a semi-independent storyline for "Dela the Hooda". Like the one that we did of Edith, this is another character back story, this time covering how Jake and Sue met and the events that eventually led to the current domestic situation between the two characters when Dela first arrived.
Because it does take place before Dela's arrival, keep in mind that through most of this story, furry characters *don't* appear until the very end. That being said, there are some twists along the way.
