Pricing, Payment, & Process
Ø Displayed estimate prices are subject to change and not a final quote but a general estimate based on work done in the past involving one subject. Yours may deviate from the general standard of pricing based on a variety of factors.
Ø Final quoted prices may vary depending on time, complexity, difficulty, size and medium of each individual piece (though this is very rare).
Ø Clear and concise visual references and/or description of a commission idea are strongly encouraged to be provided by the Client. After which a preliminary quote will be provided by the Artist.
Ø A non-refundable deposit of 10% is required by the Client before any work is started.
Ø If the Client wishes to cancel their commission during the sketch stage and has already paid in full, the client is entitled to a 90% refund, minus the 10% deposit.
Ø If the artwork is finished before final payments are made, the Client will not receive the original painting/drawing or un-watermarked image of the commission until final payments are made.
§ Clients may have the opportunity to direct alterations of their commission in the sketch stage. One free major alteration and two free minor alterations are provided. Any additional alteration after that is $5 per alteration in commissions under $100.
o Commissions over $100 are entitled to three major alterations and five minor alterations.
o These are not finite terms outlined in the alterations section and may be altered at the Artist’s discretion.
§ No alterations will be made after the sketch has been provided with the final approval of the Client.
§ The Artist reserves the right to reject alterations if said alteration reduces the artistic quality of the piece.
Cancelations & Rejections
· If the Client wishes to cancel their commission after the sketch stage is completed and inking and/or coloring has begun no refunds will be issued.
· The Artist reserves the right to issue a refund and cancel a commission due to poor communication, rude or inappropriate behavior, and/or inability to communicate effectively in English.
· The Artist reserves the right to reject any commission for any reason.
v The Artist retains the right to display all commissioned work on any personal website, gallery, or journal. If the commissioned work is a time-sensitive gift the Artist may delay public showcase at the request of the Client.
v The Artist retains ALL the rights to the commissioned artwork, including the right to make prints and merchandise.
v Image rights can be negotiated in part or whole for an added fee.
v The Client retains all rights to their respective characters. This does not allow them rights to the commissioned image.
o The Client may not profit from the artwork beyond the resale of a physical original painting or drawing (traditional media, not digital). This includes the sale of the digital files, or rights to the image.
v The Client may create up to five prints for personal use (display in their home or as gifts). Client may also resize or crop the artwork to create icons, wallpapers, or other graphics to be used in non-commercial digital format, but the Client cannot alter the artwork itself. The Client may also upload the artwork to their personal website or gallery, but credit is required, and it must not be any high resolution or unwatermarked version of the artwork.
Ø The Artist may recycle sketches and preparatory works that were rejected by the Commissioner for other commissions or personal works.
Ø The Client must read, understand and agree to all the above terms before entering into an agreement with the Artist. By sending payment, the Client agrees to the above terms.
