This is a portrait done of one of my characters, someone that didn't totally work out on tapestries. I was trying to play with mono- and duo-chromes, and chose red and blue for contrast reasons. The patterns in the back represent water and snow, the former taken from a book of Japanese fabric designs from the 17th and 18th centuries. I think this one now hangs in Cali somewhere. A final version of an earlier, failed concept. This horse represents that big hunky guy at the club that always seems to be out of one's leauge. Cobalt blue and burnt sienna. Acrylics. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

Another one from last year, this one never made it to con as it was given to friends as a Christmas gift. Acrylic on board, and yes, it's that dark. ©2001 Thomas Blue.

My guess is that very soon, major fashion labels will start using l33tsp33k in their ads to not only grab the attention of their young audiences, but to push aside the older folks that don't get it. This is just my take on it. ©2003 Thomas Blue.

Not a great scan, but it's from a photo; the painting is far too big to scan. This is an experiment in minimalism. I tried to convey as much as possible with just use of color. The picture is dull and off kilter. Blame winter sun partially. Image ©2002 Thomas Blue.

Another fashion pic for no particular reason. Cheetah's look good in just about anything. ©2003 Thomas Blue.

With the advent of the release of the third issue of Circles, I can now post the work I did for the front cover. I finished this in April, but needed to keep it under wraps so that it would be somewhat of a surprise for readers. The foreground character is Arthur, the 'painted' character, Douglas (bear and otter respectively). If you haven't read Circles or don't know what I'm talking about, please head over to :\r\n\r\nhttp://rabco.org/circles/\r\n\r\nIt's a good furry comic done as a slice of life view of a household of gay characters. This is -not- an adults only book and so far, does not contain any sexual content as that is not the main point of the story.\r\n\r\nThe cover was done in acrylics, characters ©2002 their creators and/or Rabco, image Thomas Blue 2002. Uploaded with permission.\r\n

This is the back cover I did for Circles #3. In ways, I like it better than the front cover. Acrylic on watercolor paper. Taye ©2002 Fabianek, French and Domanski, image Thomas Blue.

CK Penchant's "Jimmy Lee," in a rather racy situation; as either the model for the cover of a bondage gear catalog, or imagining himself as the same. For CK as he's a sweetheart. Image ©2004 Thomas Blue, Jimmy Lee ©2004 CK Penchant, posted with permission.

Drawn while out at dinner, then painted at home the next day. Called 'the conversation' as that's the role I was filling in it. Crayons in restarants are dangerous things. Acrylic on canvas. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

Playing about with line a little more than usual, also tried to keep color loose, added some crayon. Sometimes working with dirty brushes is freeing. Acrylic and crayon on board. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

A bit more graffitti stuff. He looks a little sadder than I was hoping, but perhaps I'll fix the expression later. Drips (which remind a coworker of Herring, which was unintentional) and random coloring, acrylic, chalk and crayon. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

A self portrait of sorts, still being worked on. I wanted to play around a bit with cubism, using line and color to suggest multiple views. The part of the caption that's cut off at the top reads, "If I don't." ©2003 Thomas Blue.

This one has been a long timein the finishing. It involves a kind of painting that I don't particularly like, i.e. hunched over the drawing table with the lamp only about have a foot above the board. This is based of an AC sketch I did for Pseudo Manitou half drunk with crayons in a restarant last year. Acrylics on board. ©2002 Thomas Blue
285x358 12536 bytes 2002.07.05
Another image shown and sold last year. I liked the sketch for this more than the finished work. The figure's too small, and while the background is meant to make him feel boxed in, there's too much of it. Acrylic on board. ©2001 Thomas Blue.

This scan came out a little contrasty. It's the firedogs, Dicey and Scruffy, done as a gift for Paf. Acrylics on canvas. This is probably my most cubist piece. ©2001 Thomas Blue.

The last painting done under the name Kamen Kyote (though the sig has been photoshopped here). This is Eddie, lead singer of a band that never was. Think of Counting Crows mixed with Portishead. This one hangs above my bed. Acrylic on canvas. ©2001 Thomas Blue.
