A little something for Chris Goodwin on Halloween. It's a lil' goober buy in the winter coat his mom made him wear. Happy Halloween! ©2003 Thomas Blue.

A little something I threw together after looking through an action figure magazine. There wasn't an otter in the group. There should be. Illustrator. ©2003 Thomas Blue.

A self portrait of sorts, still being worked on. I wanted to play around a bit with cubism, using line and color to suggest multiple views. The part of the caption that's cut off at the top reads, "If I don't." ©2003 Thomas Blue.

This is the latest 'style trade,' done with Chris Goodwin. He gave me a sketch (http://www.eselkunst.com/images/0903/sittin-fo-mike.jpg) and I finished it. Pencil, Painter Classic, Photoshop. Image ©2003 Thomas Blue/Chris Goodwin, posted with permission.

Seven color spray paint and stencil on paper, 28x44, far too big for the scanner so please excuse the slightly off photo. Done for AC 2003. ©2003 Thomas Blue.

An experiment more than a final piece. I just wanted to see if I could do something 3-D in Painter Classic. I learned a lot during this. Painter Classic and Wacom tablet. ©2003 Thomas Blue.

Something I put together yesterday. Stencil and spraypaint, the kanji reads, "geisha boy cat." Likely, the grammar is off, but I do what I can. ©2003 Thomas Blue.

Once in a great while, I do something realistic. This is one of four for a proposed portfolio for AC 2003. Watercolor, colored pencil acrylic. ©2003 Thomas Blue.

Wolf body builder, acrylic on cardboard. This will likely be redone as a spraypainted stencil piece. Slightly fuzzy scan as it's too big to put in the scanner, scan made from a polaroid. ©2003 Thomas Blue.

This is the second in a series of 'style trades,' where two artists trade unfinished sketches allowing the other to finish them in any means desired. My only rule so far is that the sketch should be a self portrait of some kind. After having done this with Pseudo Manitou, I thought to ask Allison and she agreed. This is my finish of her sketch. 418x507 46032 bytes 2003.02.28
This is another 'print' of the last one, this time done on steel-painted cardboard. This one shows the imperfections of the medium a bit more, which is just fine. I don't want them to look 'perfect.' Image ©2003 Thomas Blue.

Spray paint and stencils on a board treated with iron paint and oxydizer. The cyrillic is meant to spell out, "Wolfgangr," on the bottom with "Lone" and "Star" on the sides. This is what I think a Russian wolf rap star's promo poster might look like. I've since been told that there is no 'W' sound in Russian, so the transliteration might be off. Ah, well. I dragged out the old sable brush and played with it a bunch this week as I've been sick and haven't had the energy for painting. I've missed its seductive lines and supple flow. Inking with a brush takes years to master, but for me is much more satisfying than doing so with pens. Streamline mangled those lines a bit, but they came out well enough. 300x370 18208 bytes 2002.12.31
This year's christmas card, drawn from down in Florida (hence the palm tree and beach). The holidays have been rather confusing for us two northerners this year, so I thought I'd work that into the card. I'm the coyote on the left, Mercury, in vet scrubs is the otter on the right. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

333x501 42842 bytes 2002.12.31
This was my completion of a sketch done by Pseudo Manitou. We arranged a little project where each of us would do an unfinished self-portrait sketch of some sort, hand it off to the other person and let them finish it as he saw fit. Acrylic on canvas. Image ©2002 Pseudo Manitou/Thomas Blue

314x423 30004 bytes 2002.09.29
Drawn while out at dinner, then painted at home the next day. Called 'the conversation' as that's the role I was filling in it. Crayons in restarants are dangerous things. Acrylic on canvas. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

321x431 30086 bytes 2002.09.18
Took a paint by number kit, redesigned it a bit, remade the pallette and painted all those little tiny spaces. Argh. Spent way too much time on this little aside. Still, it was kinda fun. Paint-by-number and acrylics. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

281x353 14417 bytes 2002.09.06
Just a little nothing. I wanted to play about with washes and medium. Thankfully, the cat was patient enough for a polaroid pose. Acrylic paint and wash. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

A final version of an earlier, failed concept. This horse represents that big hunky guy at the club that always seems to be out of one's leauge. Cobalt blue and burnt sienna. Acrylics. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

This was a badge I was commissioned to do for AC 2002. Thankfully, the person requesting it gave me plenty of notice so I could play at home a while instead of doing it all at the con. Illustrator and Photoshop. KurtMRufa © his player, image ©2002 Thomas Blue.
