Yet another sticker, this one sort of a graff 'brand,' or at least my attempt at one, if I were really going to do such a thing. Illustrator. ©2005 Thomas Blue.

Forgive the glare; digital photo and flash. A poster for a fake video game, "100 Swords of Otterman 5." Acrylic on paper, 28"x28". ©2004 Thomas Blue

Otterman 5! New for Saturday mornings this fall! Well, not really. Illustrator. ©2006 Thomas Blue.
391x548 32610 bytes 2004.02.07
A sort of homage to toys of youth. I remember when space was blue. Otters will colonize the moon! ©2004 Thomas Blue.
276x394 44516 bytes 2004.09.13
Another from the same, more primitive series. Otter catches a fish and seems quite pleased with himself. Illustrator. ©2004 Thomas Blue.
332x470 12128 bytes 2003.10.24
A little something I threw together after looking through an action figure magazine. There wasn't an otter in the group. There should be. Illustrator. ©2003 Thomas Blue.

This is another file done entirely through Painter Classic. It's no one in particular. I just wanted to play with the watercolor features and the scratch tool. ©2001 Thomas Blue.

Took a paint by number kit, redesigned it a bit, remade the pallette and painted all those little tiny spaces. Argh. Spent way too much time on this little aside. Still, it was kinda fun. Paint-by-number and acrylics. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

This morning I decided for no reason at all to play around with one of Peggy's bus doodles and did this, a sort of style trade. Illustrator. Posted with permission. ©2004 Peganthyrus/Thomas Blue.

Another fashion ad for companies that don't exist. Truncheon doesn't make shoes, and Yaeger 5 no pants. ©2004 Thomas Blue.

This was done for an ex-coworker whose real name was Mike, but who signed all his English papers in High School, "Raul the Tiger." Once he told me this story, I called him Raul from then on. Digital watercolor over a pencil sketch. ©2002 Thomas Blue.

One last image in that same style. Illustrator. ©2005 Thomas Blue.

I did this picture the other day when feeling low. I hadn't pulled out my graphics tablet or Painter Classic in a long time, and I don't know why. This is a wonderful program, extremely cheap these days as it comes -with- the tablet. And no mess! All digital. Image copyright 2001 Thomas Blue.

Seven color spray paint and stencil on paper, 28x44, far too big for the scanner so please excuse the slightly off photo. Done for AC 2003. ©2003 Thomas Blue.

Pattern for a spray paint triptych. ©2004 Thomas Blue.
333x578 60722 bytes 2005.07.24
Pen, brush and ink. I drew this without thinking too much, so am only sure about some of what's going on. I don't think he's a happy coyote whatever the circumstance. This is also as close as I get to having an avatar. ©2005 Thomas Blue.
283x354 30003 bytes 2001.06.27
The full name of this one is "Scratch the Surface," which is also what's written on the wall behind him. This is my first full fingerpainting, acrylic on board. This is the character's (and my) first attempt at graffitti. He's looking to make a name, and to get a little spolight for himself. Image ©2001 Thomas Blue.
219x432 18226 bytes 2004.09.20
Servals, down near the river, same primitive take. Illustrator. ©2004 Thomas Blue.
280x358 32244 bytes 2002.07.03
I think there's a little Peter Max and some Van Gogh here, but mostly this just sort of came together with the flow of the paint. It's a serval, a very cool lanky African cat. Image ©2002 Thomas Blue.
282x359 19711 bytes 2001.06.27
This is a painting I did for Kit Burkett, just because he asked (and waited SO patiently). It's another acrylic/crayon mix, this one done with brushes more than fingers. Shroomie ©2001 Kit Burkett, image ©2001 Thomas Blue.

I was watching a bit of REM on "Unplugged," then decided to retreat to the room and pull up Painter again. This time, I thought I'd play with the pencils and chalk. There's a little water color and blending thrown in as well. All digital. Image ©2001 Thomas Blue.

Re-up as last one got messed up. Illustrator. ©2006 Thomas Blue.
313x399 27943 bytes 2002.05.09
Another lousy scan via polaroid, but for the time being, it's really all I can do. This is based off an old drawing of mine. I still like the pose and figure and wanted to play with it. The background is from a Japanese cloth pattern book and is meant to represent a waterfall. ©2002 Thomas Blue.
228x357 20306 bytes 2002.06.18
This one, too has been long in finishing. Too many small details, fine lines and small brushes make me crazy. Inspiration for this came from this amazing book called "Fruits," which is photos of the outrageously dressed folks that hang out in the Harajuku area of Tokyo. My version is actually tame compared to some of the real life counterparts. There's some symbolism here, too, mostly in the design of the face and the empty scabbard. Image ©2002 Thomas Blue.
