I've grown bored by all those usual pin-ups of the furry fandom. With so many species around the world, why stick on wolves, lions, cats, foxes and the like?\r\nWhy not aardvarks? World needs some more aardvarks!\r\nIt's very simple, maybe my most simple drawing ever, but I just wanted to show this idea.

This is the final version of my own "Triumph of Spring." Sadly, I couldn't find the original painting. \r\nI've kept the poses they have in the original, though I've slightly altered them. I've modified their outfits, though I've kept them very flowy and old-fashioned as in the original.

Why? Because I like it.\r\nMirrorshades -> cyberpunk -> William Gibson -> Mona Lisa Overdrive.

Some days ago I was at the Zoology laboratory, waiting for a sample to dehydrate, and I was looking at the posters on the wall. One of those posters was showing a taxonomic list of black corals (our university is currently studying Indonesian black corals), and one of the names caught my eye: Lillipathes.\r\nIt greatly reminded my character Lillian, and I couldn't resist doing a picture using lillipathes and Lillian.\r\nI couldn't find a reference picture for the lillipathes, so I had to imagine them knowing that they are hexacorallia (six-tentacled corals).\r\n\r\nLillian is © by me.

CAUTION: due to an extensive use of colors, this picture can be visually challenging.\r\n\r\nInspired by Kraftwerk's album "Electric Café." It is close to what I wanted it to be, but not too much.

I wanted to try a different kind of shading on this drawing. I'm not completely happy of it, honestly.\r\n\r\nDave is © by me

I was feeling not feeling good at all when I drew this, so I needed to let myself go. I'd like to have a boxing sack, but I don't, so I had to conceive a drawing of some sort. It's sad, but we can't be happy all the time.

I really don't know what to say about this drawing, other than I've kind of stolen it from a painting of Pontormo.\r\nDone in one hour in Corel Painter™ IX.

This is the final version of my Judith. I took a painting by Titian as a source of inspiration for this one. I'm not very fond of her hair, but whatever.\r\nI've left a partial lineart here because I liked the idea.\r\n\r\nJudith is © by me.

Second attempt at drawing something without using a lineart of any sort - with "Birdlike Spirit" being the first one. It didn't become really what I wanted, but oh, I still have to improve that kind of style.\r\n\r\nLady Ana is © by Me.

My Ana, in a more "natural" version. Maybe she looks too much pudgy here, but I believe it's fit with the picture theme, abundancy. :)\r\nPencil on paper for the lineart, cleaning and painting in Corel Painter? IX and Adobe® Photoshop® CS.\r\n\r\nPrint and merchandising avaible.\r\n\r\nAna is © by Michael Tangherlini, 2006.

Here's Lillian, my badger female character. I wanted her to look comely though her imperfections.\r\n\r\nPencil on paper for the lineart, colored and painted in Adobe® Photoshop® CS and Corel Painter IX™.\r\n\r\nLillian is © by Michael Tangherlini, 2006.\r\n\r\nPrint and merchandising avaible.

I wanted to draw a relaxing picture, so I drew this kind and calm cremello mare. I decided to give her a "softer" figure because, in my opinion, it suited better the calm and relaxed concept of the whole picture.\r\n\r\nPencil on paper for the lineart, colored and painted in Adobe® Photoshop® CS and Corel Painter IX™.\r\n\r\nJudith is © by Michael Tangherlini, 2006.\r\n\r\nPrint and merchandising avaible.

Two anthropomorphic killer whales, created after a "National Geographics" issue cover story. I've named them Mara and Leon.\r\n\r\nPencil on paper for the lineart, colored and painted in Adobe® Photoshop® CS and Corel Painter IX™.\r\n\r\nOrcafolk Mara and Leon are © by Michael Tangherlini, 2006.\r\n\r\nPrint avaible.
