Enough of the old, lets look at the new. Samples from the up coming issue 10. I've been told that it made it to the printers this week so hopefully, HOPEFULLY, it'll be shipped next week. I can't wait for it to come out anymore than the readers can. A new team on the current issues now. Pencils by me, inks by the talented Steve Addlesee (Fawn in New Horizons, Shanda inker), and the very cool Mitch Sonota (artists of the comic Wild Frontier) doing greytoning. Yup, its back and looks awsome. Extinctioners copyright S. Howard 2002.

With each comic I do there's one page I usually like over all others and this one is it for issue 10. For that fact it ranks up their witht he page from issue 2 as my alltime favorite. With this page I went a different riot with the visuals for the characters making them look way more realistic than they normally do. This is what they look like when on the mental plane of reality. This baby sent me through 3 non-photo blue mechanical pencil leads, but oh it was worth it, and Steve did a great job doing the inks on those feathers. And of course the special effects by Mitch seals the deal. S. Howard 2002 (NEED MORE AVIANS IN THIS FANDOM).

Innocent enough, I was going to upload this on Yerf, years ago, but they got that no natual nipple bumps thing going over there, so now about 3 years after this was made I'm finally showing it. Scarlet and Fenidra have a little girl talk. Again, among my first couple of commissions all from the same guy. Scarlet copyright S. Howard, Fenindra copyright Hugo Casares.

This is the colored version of the picture on Furbid and I'll soon be offering the first print of this, signed, on Furbid very soon. Overall one of my favorite colored pictures by myself. Doing her white fur took a lot longer than you'd think.

One of Artica's favortie snacks is ice cream and sometimes she gets a little too into it. Problem is, she has to eat it fast before her body's own powers causes the ice cream to go from soft to hard as a rock. (Original up on furbid) Artica copyright S. Howard 2005

She is perhaps my most popular character. Why, I have no idea to be honest, but this little ice vixen has won over a many fan's heart. And to think, I originally had no plans of ever showing her again after the end of the first story line. Goes to show how fans can influence a writer sometimes and for the best. I realized that I haven't been uploading a lot lately and for fear of being forgotten, I better bet my butt in gear if I want to make a dent in the fandom artists. Here's what I believe was my second commission ever for Mr. Firefox. Its Hugo and then named Kirindra. Looks like Kiri got what she wanted at the mall. Art S. This is the cover design (flat colors at the moment) for a CD I'm working to put together for AC. It'll feature the first official Soundtrack for the Extinctioners comic, thanks to fan Joshua the Samuri who write and preformed the songs. If I can figure out how to do it, it'll also be a split CD that will also feature artwork. No official title fo the CD has been though up yet though. Extinctioners (C) S. Howard

Spawned by a couple of fans on the Yahoo Group's Club Extinctioners, spinoff teams of the Extinctioners were created over the past year or so. Many of the fans have created some rather interesting characters with even more interesting abilities. Since they were drawing so many pictures to the fan section of the club, I decided recently to do my renditions of the characters (a benefit of being a member). Here are 2 Delphi the dolphin and Splash the shark. Each copyright their respective creators, Extinctioners and art copyright S.Howard 2003.

Lately, as an attempt to keep myself drawing, since my work load has been keeping me pretty busy, I've decided to do a free desktop calendar image once a month (Granted, I'm really late this month). Most folks talk about artists not giving anything free for the fans, well, sure we do, just sometimes with minor conditions. At anyrate, the primary spot I post these things is on DA, but since I'm actually uploading here figured I'd post here too. Artica (the O.G. artic vixen) (C) S. Howard 2005.

Just expressing myself with art. This was done using a Wacom Tablet (a medium I have not yet begun to master). What's up with this? Well, I feel artists take themselves too seriously sometimes, SO rather than doing a pic in my usually high detailed style I decided to challenge myself and try going simpler, and I tell you this wasn't as easy as it may look. Messages galour in this one. A No Prize to anyone that can figure out just what all this symbolism and what the rat's saying means. Art, Me (Don't have to worry about getting this stolen, but boy am I going to get flamed).

And to show that the folio isn't full of only males, here's one of the many females in the folio. This one has a more step by step process example to it. Is my way of drawing canines the only and correct way? Of course not, there are many ways to do so, some far better than mine, but this is after all "MY" folio about how "I" do it. Anyway, Domino Doz here is also from the LAPDOGS story. She will be a rookie bicycle officer. Domino copyright S.Howard 2002 Don't redistribute, link.

Genex the earth phoenix. Back in middle school I had this concept of doing elemental characters (thanks to Captain Planet) that were all birds. The drawings I did of them thing were just generic looking birds made out of the element they represented, like a water bird, a fire bird, a bird made out of dirt and grass. Well of those only Phenix at that time became a more detailed useable character. Well, I've gone back, opened up those old sketchbooks and redesigned them. Here's just one. Copyright S. At long last I completed my 3 issue crossover with Ken Singshow's Andorozons. I don't believe in superstition, but 13 (even though technically it was the 14th) truly was an unlucky number. These are the 3 covers, layout and concepts by myself but executed with mastery by the talented Ken Singshow, Karabiner, and Trump (in respective order). Extinctioners (C) S.
