It was a Halloween/Autumn themed round. The movie Labyrinth was mentioned on their sign up sheet so I couldn't resist drawing Barikada as David Bowie's character from that movie.

LOL... I hated the movie itself (give me Dark Crystal anyday!), but David Bowie was a lot of fun and I liked the puppets.

A First Time For Everything - Commission

Commissioned piece for NewEnglander. His vampire character, Miranda, changes into her bat form for the first time... and doesn't even know it! This was a pleasure to do... not only are foods and wines a passion for me, but when he first brought up the idea, I had a vision of Miranda with a e___e face and couldn't stop laughing.

As you can see, Miranda is a vampire that enjoys some of the finer things in life, such as expensive wine. Speaking of... it's a good thing that she didn't drop the glass during her shift. At about $275,000 USD a bottle, she'd probably be very angry about that!

Fantasy Xchange: Benny & Benji

These characters would normally be a bit too colorful for my tastes, but since they are characters in a children's book, all is good! Lots of good fun with coloring them.

The pose ended up being a little different then I first expected, but I saw a 1940s pin-up picture with the pose and thought it would be perfect! :)

Avians (with the exception of crows and birds of prey) aren't very well represented in the fandom. Ulario Sez "Draw more birdies!".

I'm actually very happy with how this one turned out. I'm really pushing myself to spend more time with my backgrounds and with coming up with more exciting poses (Trying to avoid characters standing around doing nothing). I think it's starting to pay off.

A Typical Night at the Hospital - Commission

One of the "You provide the character and I provide the content" commissions that I recently offered.

NewEnglander's vampire character, Miranda, raids the local hospitals and blood banks... which is probably a common thing for her to do. I really let my inner horror movie fan come out with this one... but don't worry, all the blood is from the plasma packs. It means that Miranda gets nourishment and nobody dies from vampire bites.

Nurse hat if for humor. My original idea was to dress her in a full nurse outfit, but white clothes on a white character don't look too good.

I tried to play around with mood and shading with this one... in particular, I was inspired by the grittiness and sepiatones of the Saw movies.

This one was fun to do. Bats are always a pleasure to draw.

Happy Birthday, Breaker!

I got for this month's dragon swap. The theme for this month was love/friendship... but he said that his birthday was on valentine's day so I decided to do a play on that.

He requested that he be drawn with "me"... so here I am, along with my dragon character, Arril. It's a little known fact about me that I love cooking/baking and one of the things I make that people seem to like the most is my chocolate covered strawberry cake, so that's what I made him.

Caloo - Species Concept Commission

Another commissioned piece for an upcoming German RPG forum. This one features the playable Caloo race that resembles anthropomorphic kangaroos.

One of the things that this species is known for is exploration. The other is their technology, which is somewhat advanced for a fantasy world, so I made her clothes a combination of steampunk and Indiana Jones.

I am in love with this picture... you have no idea. I've been wanting to draw a roo for months now. If the client didn't like the sketch then I probably would have claimed the character myself. :p

In any case, this concept will be the base for my Mican species, which are also anthro kangaroos (or at least evolved from them) but are a bit different.

Sheila's always a fun character to draw. Probably because of what NewEnglander said - It's always nice to see an IRS agent get hassled for a change. Almost makes me want to create a bear character of my own.

Quickie gift art for NewEnglander of his were cat and mouse character, Kromm and Rosaline (AKA Geri) 'cuz he's such an awesome customer. A little bit of a hommage to the Tom and Jerry cartoons that I used to watch as a kid.

These characters are featured in a six page comic commission I've been working on.

Her character, Cat who is, in fact, a wyvern.

I had a bit of trouble drawing this character because she's a bit colorful for my personal tastes. That aside, I think she turned out okay.

I am not a very religious person, so don't read too deep into the religious themes. You can make up your own story about this picture, but it's not meant to be overly religious in my mind.

The theme for this round was "Music and Lyrics", and one of the songs that they suggested was "Hallelujah", originally done by Leonard Cohen. It's a very beautiful song, so I had to run with this one.

Those of you who viseted my LiveStream session today got to see her as I was working on her. She was originally a random zebra gal that I made strictly for the session.
(Thanks again to all who came. I didn't think it'd be such a success! I'll be sure to do it again sometime!)

I like this character... and I like zebras... so she may show up again sometime. I dunno if I'll go as far as creating an elaborate backstory or what not. But hey, I'd be willing to draw this character again.

I named her "Cierene" after one of my planets in Spore.
Yah. Cheesy naming technique is cheesy.
