Two-eyed, two-horned, flyin' purple people eater!
For aboveClouds VIA the Fantasy Xchange.
Her character, Pash. A colorful gryphon that I've been wanting to draw for quite some time. I'm glad I finally got her this month.
Despite what the title says, I don't think she actually eats people. But she does fly and is purple, so I couldn't resist making the joke.
Anyways, I used this picture as a guinea pig for playing around with texture. Quite fun!

Hawk Girl - Commission
Commissioned piece for Kamaria-Dering (of Furaffinity). Who wanted a larger built red-tailed hawk girl with dreadlocks. I never caught the name of this character, but it was definately a fun commission.

AlyssaCubi - Sketch Commission
A sketch commission for Kry-Havok as a gift for AlyssaCubi (Both on Furaffinity).
I normally don't post simple sketch commissions publicly, but since this is gift art I thought the person receiving the gift would appreciate it. I added a splash of color and texture to make it a little prettier for web viewing.

Fathom - FAX
For Thunderflight VIA the Fantasy Art Xchange on LiveJournal
Their zebra dragon character, Fathom coming through a portal in the sky.
The character is a bit colorful for my tastes... but fun to draw nonetheless!

Nox - Fantasy Art Xchange
Trying to finish up all art that I owe others until I go on vacation next week.
For dragonmarkaleb VIA the Fantasy Xchange community.
His dragon character, Nox.
This month was actually supposed to be a sketch round, but my uncolored sketches look a little boring for me to turn in to the exchange. So I added a splash of color.
I know his wings wouldn't give him enough lift to fly, but the specific wing shape was part of the character's design, which I needed to remain true to!

Jericho - BeastXchange Adoption
For Boss-Hoss1 VIA the BeastXchange. The person who was supposed to draw him last month bailed, so I adopted him so he would get arts.
His character, Jericho Long who is described as being the "Ricardo Montelban" type. He likes beautiful women and fine clothing.
The two women that he is with are random anthros.
Interactions between multiple characters... still one of my biggest weaknesses as an artist. But I'm working on it.
Why am I reminded of the "Most Interesting Man in the World" beer commercials?

619x800 118934 bytes 2010.05.05
Kyra - BeastXchange
For Ghillietoes43 VIA the BeastXchange. Her ocelot character, Kyra.
For some reason, I struggled to get this character on paper. She didn't seem to want me to draw her, I guess. I am relatively happy with the results, though.
THe word "steampunk" was mentioned in this character's description so I ran with it. I don't get to draw steampunkish things nearly enough!

Fantasy Xchange: Maurice
For Wolfy-T VIA the Fantasy Xchange community on LiveJournal.
Her vampire character, Maurice. Normally he's more human-looking. While I am comfortable with drawing humans, when she stated that he could be drawn as a bat anthro, I couldn't resist because I adore bats. ^^
I didn't have any references of his anthro bat form, so I took a few artistic liberties... hope you don't mind.
Perspective is still a weak point for me... but...
Anyways, I'm quite happy with how this turned out!

Commission: Grizzly Bear Tattoo Design
RAWR!
"It's caribou eating time!"
Commission work. A snarling, angry anthro grizzly! It was commissioned by the same person who commissioned the Polar Bear tattoo design that I did back in December, and yes... this one is also going to wind up as a tattoo.
This one was quite fun to do. I don't get to draw snarling beasts very often... and I find bears in general to be awesome critters and a real blast to draw.
Background was added to make it look more pretty for web viewing. Obviously, the tattoo won't have a background.
Pose was referenced from an old picture of Wolverine that the client sent me.

BeastXchange- Cat
For CatLover8976 via the BeastXchange community.
Her character, Cat who is, in fact, a wyvern.
I had a bit of trouble drawing this character because she's a bit colorful for my personal tastes. That aside, I think she turned out okay.

BeastXchange - Mabon Tail
For Mabon Tail VIA the BeastXchange community on DeviantArt.
It took me a little longer then usual to create this one. His more toony anatomy and unique facial features were a challenge for me, but I'm relatively happy with it.

Fantasy Xchange: Daisy and Howell
For LaSpliten VIA the Fantasy Art Xchange.
Her characters, Daisy (The Gryphon) and Howell (The computer). These two are life linked and are always together.
Robot/Cyborg/Android/Droid/Computer characters really aren't my cup of tea(which BTW is why they don't really exist in my Azura't'oris universe) but the gryphon is cute!
And yes, I know it has hooves... but I dun wanna hear any "ZMG!!!! It haz hooves and horsey tail so it must be hippogryph!" comments. I personally would classify it as a hippogryph... but since the character's creator says it's a gryphon then it's a gryphon!

Commission: Nothing Left to Lose!
Commissioned work.
I pretty much had free reign with this one. I was given the general premise of the story and general ideas for the characters and pretty much told to "go nuts".
I wish I had more commissions like this because this was the most fun I've had working on a commission in a long time. Interactions between characters and complex cityscape backgrounds are among my weakest points as an artist, but I spent a lot of time with it and I think that it shows! I spent almost as much time on the background as I did with the characters for a change. I didn't have any specific feline breed in mind when I designed the female... but looking at her now I think she does look a bit liger-ish. I rather enjoy doing "darker" scenes like this. I should probably try some personal art like this.

Matrix - Character Concept
Taking a break from commissions to do come more character concepts.
Evelyn "Matrix" Hatent is part of the same group of mercenaries as T'syala. She is the youngest of the group (19 years old) and she is a little influenced by the cyber punk cultures of Ultimare.
She is a Theran spellcaster, mage class... which means she relies strictly on spells, no melee weapons at all. She uses the poison school of magik. Poison is a secondary element made my combining the two primary elements Water and Energy.
And for the record... although her color scheme reminds me of them... her name has NOTHING to do with the Matrix movies. I may be a geek, but I'm not THAT big of a geek.

1633x1169 524953 bytes 2010.02.21
ArchTeryx: Character Sheet Commission
Character sheet commission for ArchTeryx of his Archaeopteryx character of the same name.
This one was fun... the first time I've done a commission of a fan character from an '80s cartoon show. When I was younger, I caught a few episodes of Dinosaucers... but I was much more of a Ninja Turtles and Ghostbuster fan (Egon = <3 )
But it's one of the few shows that I watched as a kid that I can still stand today... Unlike shows like G.I. Joe (After seeing an episode of GI Joe back a few months ago, I now realize that the show is just one big recruitment advertisement for the Village people).
Anyways... 'twas a different type of commission... but fun nonetheless.

BlackWing - EAX
For jet3270 VIA the Equine Art Xchange. Her dark pegasus character, Blackwing.
I'm actually very happy with how this one turned out. I'm really pushing myself to spend more time with my backgrounds and with coming up with more exciting poses (Trying to avoid characters standing around doing nothing). I think it's starting to pay off.

Commission: Bird Bath
Commissioned work of NewEnglander's bluebird character, Trill taking a bath in a rather big birdbath.
The pose ended up being a little different then I first expected, but I saw a 1940s pin-up picture with the pose and thought it would be perfect! :)
Avians (with the exception of crows and birds of prey) aren't very well represented in the fandom. Ulario Sez "Draw more birdies!".

800x619 116471 bytes 2010.01.17
Commission for a human character in his dragon form.
I was mostly given free range when it came to drawing this character. I was just given simple instructions about the coloring and head structure and just went from there.
He was loosely based on my character, Mathazar... so he does look quite a bit like one of my Terra dragons.

Schism - Charity Request
A few days ago, I took nomnations for a "charity" request. Basically people nominated somebody who was going through tough times. I then selected one of them and drew their character. Just to bring them a little happiness.
The lucky recipiant was SwirlingVortex who was nominated by DracoticCannibal.

Cierene
Those of you who viseted my LiveStream session today got to see her as I was working on her. She was originally a random zebra gal that I made strictly for the session.
(Thanks again to all who came. I didn't think it'd be such a success! I'll be sure to do it again sometime!)
I like this character... and I like zebras... so she may show up again sometime. I dunno if I'll go as far as creating an elaborate backstory or what not. But hey, I'd be willing to draw this character again.
I named her "Cierene" after one of my planets in Spore.
Yah. Cheesy naming technique is cheesy.
