Commissioned Piece of Sophie the Otter.

She may look familiar to some of my watchers... well, she very well may because she was based off of one of my Theran Calender girls from a few months back. The character in that picture was a random otter, but I allowed NewEnglander permission to create a character that looked like her. Normally I wouldn't do that (So don't ask!), but I know NewEnglander fairly well and I figured that it would be better then that character design being used as a one-time random character in a single picture.

And since I know someone is going to mention this... yes, the fish is the same species as Dori from Finding Nemo... also known as a "blue tang". I just love colorful fish.

Yay gryphons! I think my favorite commissions to do are the bird/gryphon ones. No surprises there!

"Stylin" - Commission

Oh noes! Another Rosaline commission.

The quick story behind this is that Rosaline is a D&D style adventurer who accidently drinks a potion that turns her into a were mouse. Crispin is a war-torn weaponsmith turned toymaker who makes all of Roz's clothing, weapons, etc.

Sur'Tal - Fantasy Xchange

For Rabid-Dragoness VIA the Fantasy Xchange Community.

This month's theme was "Halloween", but lordy, lordy... I just could not find the inspiration to draw this character in a costume. Don't get me wrong, I adore the character's design... but a quad dragon in a costume just seems a bit silly for my tastes and I didn't like any of the ideas I came up with. So here's what Sur'Tal would look like if she were to be posessed by a vampire or demon.

Sushi - Commission

Moar commission work of NewEnglander's Werebear character, Sheila. This one was a pleasure as the new season of Deadliest Catch started last week so I've had Alaskan Fishing on the brain anyways. XD

Working on this pic did make me want sushi myself since I haven't had it in a long time.... though alas, the only place in my area that I trust eating sushi from is uber expensive. :/

I tried to make Sheila look as cute as possible.

Tresh - Angry Avatar

For the 100x100 exchange, I adopted ~Misted-Laughter who didn't get her art for last month's round.

One of her suggestions was an "angry" icon... and I believe everyone on LJ should have one.

Design for the "Talebearer's Quest" card for the Rage card game. Basically the idea of this particular card was tagging along with a great hero. Since the flavor quote on the card reads "Wow, it's an honor just to carry his weapons" I imagined a small child looking up to his hero. THese little critters are werecrows (white necked crows to be more specific since the game takes place in Africa) Bleh, I'm not used to working this small.

Talitha - Commission

This is the second image I've done for an upcoming RPG forum. This particular dragoness is named "Talitha", and from what I understood from the client's e-mails she's going to be a featured character/NPC in the game. She is the daughter of a water dragon and is nearly god-like.

The client requested that the pose and general appearance of the character be copied from a picture that I did back in 2003. It's flattering that someone actually remembers pictures I've done from back then, but my style has changed a lot since then and this isn't the type of pose that I'd normally do nowadays.

This was the first time that I've drawn a meerkat, so Wikipedia was heavily referenced.

The Nameless One - Trade

One of those rare art trade thingies.
For E.S. Hanninen, who is one of my friends from my college days. Her and I would take 'extended breaks' from our life drawing class to go on search parties around campus to try and find vending machines that had peanut butter M&Ms. Haha... that professor hated me.

I miss those days.

Anyways, one of her Lan characters. I was just given a brief description and basically told to go nuts with it. I hope I got it right - I always feel a little nervous working from descriptions alone since I'm afraid that I'm going to mess things up. >_>

I used a more muted color palette for this, restricting the colors I used to only browns, yellows and purples.

Thenyr - Character Sheet Commission

Character sheet commission for Arrow Quivershaft of his golden eagle based character, Thenyr.

I was given the basic body shape of the character, but for the most part I got artistic freedom with his coloring/markings. I kinda like what I came up with... I'm tempted to use something similar for a character of my own. ^^

Tickle - Commission

Meh... I wasn't sure whether to put this in my commissions folder of my main folder because they're my characters. :/

Once in a blue moon, I get commissions of my own characters in different situations. In this case, the person who commissioned this wanted my fursona being tickled by her husband.

Honestly, I HATE being tickled. If my boyfriend tries tickling me, he more often then not gets an boot to the groin. XD

Trill - Commish 2

Second commission of Trill. NewEnglander's singer of yore character who changes into a bluebird.

Trill's half morph stage was originally going to be completely covered in feathers, but she looked too much like a Smurf. I wanted to avoid that because I have a few theories about the Smurfs. It's already obvious that the Smurfs are communists, but I think they're KKK members, too. Why else would they wear the pointy white hats?

Anyways... I like the picture better this way, anyways. It sort of looks like her dress became her feathers. Which is kind of cool, I think. NewEnglander also said that he wanted her to have a pointy noise in the second stage, but I think it might have been cooler to have the teeth form the beak and the lips/nose form the cere.

I've actually been looking forward to working on this page, since I've had the idea of a stereotypical cartoony short, beardy king and tall, fat queen in mind since the beginning and it always gave me a chuckle to think of it.

Trill - Commission

Commission for NewEnglander's character, Trill... a singer who wakes up to find herself in a guilded cage. Literally.

She's a bluebird. In the ref pic that he gave me, she was all blue... but I decided to add the orange throat that real bluebirds have just to add a little more color. I'm rather happy with this one because it isn't often when I draw full avians rather then gryphons. Still, I always feel like I should be drawing ears on them. XD
