Tropical Gryphon - WIP

This originally started as one of my many random doodles that I do... so at first I did not intend to finish it. But I think I like it well enough to color it and finish it off.

Anthro gryphon female with what will be blue and gold macaw foreparts and jaguar hindquarters. She is currently unnamed... but I'll try to have a name for her by the time I'm done coloring.

Atherdoru - Concept Art

Working on my Theran gods series has made me think about the ancient days of Thera before the rise of the gods and what it would have been like back then.

Like all historical periods, it would have had historical figures. Famous heroes and villains. This is concept art for one of the possible heroes of that time. I didn't really spend much time with this picture... it is mainly meant for me to lay out her colors and patterning.
I do have a backstory in mind for her, and I will most likely make a character sheet for her as well. However, it will have to wait until I finish the next series of my gods series because her history would make a bit more sense then.

Gryphon Bois - WIP

This was mainly an exercise in piecing pictures together. And since I've been neglecting my gryphon characters lately I decided to go with my four male anthro gryphon characters. In order from left to right: Tori, Maverick, Paxton, and Asher (AKA Orion)

These were done on four seperate pieces of paper... each sketch was a quick 5-10 minute doodle. I like it enough to post the line art... but since it was rather quick and there are a ton of mistakes I'm not sure if I like it enough to color it or not. Part of me wants to color it... if only because each of these four characters have really cool individual markings that won't be added until the coloring stage....

Dragon Soul - WIP

Once again I haven't had as much time for personal works as I'd like to... especially with exam week coming up... but I've finally gotten some line art for personal art done that I actually like so I'm posting that here so people can see what I've been up to.

This is a revisit of an old idea. My character, Aredon has always felt a special kinship to dragons. The dragon in the picture is meant to be more of a symbolic thing... I'll have more info when I post the colored version.

So yes, I am planning on coloring it... but it may be a while before I get around to doing it. Not only am I busy with school/commissions but I'm also planning on spending A LOT of time coloring it - IE if all goes according to plan, that dragon is going to have individual scales on his entire body.

"Nerd Herd" Ulario - WIP

Well, my original plan for today was to finish up and color another commission, but my email has been wonky and I haven't been getting half of his emails. I haven't gotten the approval email for his rough sketch so I can't color it. :/

So I had to find something else to occupy myself.

Anyone who knows anything about me probably knows that the TV show, Chuck is one of my obsessions. I had realized that I haven't done any sketches or anything relating to it... so I dressed my fursona up in the Nerd Herd uniform because hey, I am a nerd. XD

This was originally going to stay just a sketch, but I think I like it enough to actually color it. The uniform will look more like the official herder uniform from the show when it's colored.

New Watermark

My heraldic gryphon has served for my watermark for the past two years... but I think it's time to retire it and use a new watermark. One that is less generic and fits me and my art more.

This was the design that I came up with. It features my fursona because you can't get any more "me" then that.
The little critter that looks like a cross between a manta ray and an insect is a Seraph. An alien animal in my fictional universe... and my namsake on a few sites (SeraphGuardian4, SeraphRising, etc).

I like this new watermark. It resembles both my fantasy and sci fi art. I am not giving anybody else permission to use this design anyplace online. Period.

The Forest's Champion - WIP

Those who pay attention to the dragon swap community on LiveJournal probably know that this month's round is a "themed" round... friends or lovers. I asked that my dragon character, Arril be drawn with her mate, Seskelaugh (pronounced "SES-Kay-Lau). I hadn't drawn him ever.. but I did have a specific "look" for him in mind. Basically the same dragon from my old "loopy dragon" picture, but with dark grey hair and black stripes.

The Way the Wind Blows - WIP

One of two dragon pictures that started as quick sketches I did while waiting for my SWG server to come back up the other day that I liked well enough to finish.

Rush's song "The Way the Wind Blows" was playing on my iPod while sketching this picture, so that was the inspiration.

This one gave me trouble. Earlier this week BOTH of my mechanical pencils broke... which shouldn't surprise me since I've been using the same ones for years. The nee pencils that I bought keep breaking my lead in the middle of drawing. Must find a store that sells my old brand. At least I know those are reliable.

I am planning on coloring him... eventually.

Fearless - Line Art

I like this one, and I am planning on finishing it, but I don't know when.

Fearless - Roughs

Rough sketch that I did to practice a few things: Movement, action, interaction between multiple characters, etc. My character, Paxton fights a random verin. That verin was originally going to be my character, Suddah... which explains why he looks a lot like him... but I decided agains it because it would have fit with the timeline of my story (Suddah would have torn Pax apart no question... and he isn't supposed to die until later in life).

My computer screen seems to like to butcher light sketches so I hope other people can see it better then I can. I'd like to say I'm going to finish this pic because I really like it, but I have abandoned sketches that I've liked before many times so I'm not going to say for sure if I will finish or not.

Fire and Water - WIP

It's been a long time since I've posted some of my WIP sketches before I color them and I know some of my fans like that so... here you go.

I've decided that I deperately need to draw some of my characters that I've never drawn before and/or need an updated look. Asar'ii (Anthro Sun Conure Gryphon) is a fire mage while Arril (Spirit Dragon) is a water mage.

Flying Death - Work in Progress

I've been in an art slump the last week or so. I've been trying to draw/sketch but I don't like anything I've been turning out. Not enough to want to finish or even post here, anyways. This is the first thing I really like.

Tori, one of my gryphon characters flying down to run his katanas through someone. (In particular he is a falcon/fennec/okapi gryphon) Depending on my mood when I color this, it may end up being pretty bloody. Haven't decided, yet.

This is going to be part of my Tori Portfolio.

Loopy Dragon - Work In Progress

Random spirit dragon that began as a sketch when I was bored in my class. There is no story behind him, really.

I haven't decided if I like this sketch enough to color it, yet. Though if I get bored I'll probably end up coloring it reguardless.

Gryphon Learns About Shims

A little bit of off-topic fun. 15 minute sketch scanned into my computer and touched up with photoshop to make it look "Pretty".

If you know anything about me... then you probably know that I am an avid Matrix Online player. One thing you may not know is that my boyfriend (John... AKA LoTekGhost) also plays. One of his alternate characters is a Shim. If you're not familiar with such MMO lingo, a shim (AKA a Shemale) is a female character played by a real life male. In the Matrix Online, shim characters usually have a certain "look"... and by that I mean they usually have big boobs (unlike REAL female players like me who are most often more normal sized). I thought it would be kinda funny to make a picture commenting on that fact.

Tenari Shiosai - Sketch

I did have intentions of coloring this picture... in fact, I did get it halfway colored but after I left it and came back to it after a few days I decided I didn't like it enough to finish it.

I do like the pose, though... I may use the pose for another drawing.

Tenari is one of my characters... sort of. She's the offspring of mr characters, Mag and Kjata. Therefore, she's a direct hybrid of a Terra Dragon and a Spirit Dragon. The reason I say that she is "sorta" one of my characters is because she's not in the current timeline of my story... she comes about 30-50 years after the main bulk of the story so she's not a character I plan on developing a whole lot (though I have the feeling some people would disagree with that).

Matrix Online Signature

After a few months of Hiatus, I've returned to the Matrix Online. I missed all of my friends from there... and now we've got a vent surver so I can now talk to my friends through my headset. WOOT! I love my faction!

I needed a signuture for the official game forums and my faction's forums so I took a recent picture that I made and modified it into a signature. I don't normally upload my signatures to art sites, but I thought this one was pretty cool. When I feel like drawing again I may make a new one with my character's face.

Tudyk - WIP

Getting out of my art block slump by drawing a gryphon. In particular, Tudyk, my Phoenix/Siberian Tiger character (stripes will be added when colored). I have a particular title in mind for this picture but I won't say what it is because it's not final.

A five minute sketch while I was waiting for my blueberry muffins to bake. No, this is not meant to be a masterpiece... it's a statement that I decided to make because I'm getting sick of "oh so cool" 13 year olds who try to claim other people's artwork as their own.

Ariasha - Species Concept

Concept art for my other alien feline species. Ariasha are more like traditional house cats then the other species. I consider this to be a quick picture, so thats why I put it in "sketches". I'm getting serious about creating the write-ups for the Azura'T'Oris universe and it's inhabitants (finally!) so chances are I'll be doing quite a bit more concept arts soon.

This particular ariasha's name is "Gabriel", he's one of my character, Liah's pets.
