NI - Valkyrie Concept Art

Batty bat bat bat!\r\nMore quick concept art for Nefarious Illusions...\r\n\r\nVal's father was one of Thera's first intergallactic traders. She would often follow him on his trade runs. On a run delivering Theran ore to the rainforest planet Kalgea, Val fell in love with one of the locals. An Ani-Gathier. The two were soon married.\r\n\r\nVal and her lifemate now work as co-owners of a mechanic shop on Ultimare.\r\n\r\nValkyrie is more of a side character in the story... but I really wanted a bat character... since I LOVE bats... so I may draw her a little more.\r\n\r\nCharacter sheet coming eventually.

NI - Nareheda Concept Art

More quick concept art for Nefarious Illusions.\r\n\r\nNareheda is a Theran who has turned her back on all Theran culture. She lives on the streets of one of the destroyed sectors of Ultimare and is the self-proclaimed queen of the underworld. Few dare to challenge her rule.\r\n\r\nI admit that I'm not a huge canine fanatic... but I do have a soft spot for foxes since they were one of my favorite animals as a kid. \r\nI didn't want to go with a standard red fox for her species, since I wanted to be at least a little original. Instead she's a marble fox.\r\n\r\nI will be making a character sheet for her... eventually. As for now I already have a lot of other arts I need to work on.

Nautilus Dragon

For my art book! He's meant to go agross the page from my quaker gryph... kinda like yin and yang... shich is why he's in a similar pose. ^^\r\n\r\nTerra dragon with nautilus markings. Just because I love the markings... and I love nautilus (nautili?). They're funny critters because they move by propelling jets of water out of their body... and they mve backwards. Meaning that they often run into things. They're like the old people of the sea. LOL. \r\n\r\nI like this character. I'd like to use him again... but I may or may not make a character sheet for him. I already have too many of those that I need to work on. \r\n

QuakerGryph

More work on my upcoming art book.\r\n\r\nTyph, my quaker parrot/house cat gryphon character. He's an older character, but I've only drawn him a couple of times.\r\n\r\nIf you've ever been around a quaker, you'd probably know that they're adorable little green balls of fluff, but can instantly become little devils. They may be little guys but they're just full of personality.\r\n\r\nI luff teh quakers. ^^\r\n\r\nOn a side note... you don't really see too many gryphs that have avian parts other then predatorial birds... which is kind of sad because songbird and parrot gryphons are fun.

Here Kitty Kitty

Suggested by NewEnglander... who really likes this character of mine and wanted to see her sprawled out like a real cat with her spear besides her.\r\n\r\nNormally, I try to avoid my characters doing "stereotypical actions" because it's too expected... but I kinda wanted to see Reese in that situation myself.\r\n\r\nShe's in a playful mood... but don't let that fool you. If you get on her bad side, consider yourself a kitty chew toy! \r\n\r\nI decided to alter her color scheme a little... because her previous one looked a little... plain. She's one of my oldest characters... and still one of my favorites. Out of all of my characters, I think she's changed the most from her original designs then any of my other characters. \r\n\r\nThis was a difficult pose for me. I had to draw and color her upsie down. :p

The Fire Bearer

Drawn after several people asked my to draw more dinosaurs and a conversation with ArchTeryx,\r\n\r\nArchaeopteryx girl... obviously a fire mage. I really like this character design, too good for being just a one time use character so you may be seeing more of her. \r\n\r\nI know archaeopteryx probably weren't as brightly colored or had such extravagent tails. Maybe she's part phoenix. I dunno. \r\n

Random demon girl.\r\nThis has nothing to do with my fictional universe... just done for fun.

Entwined

Rikka, my raptor character reclines in the trees of her jungle home. She is a very devoted worshipper Iris, the goddess of nature, so she can communicate with animal life... a skill that most Therans lack.\r\n\r\nOn a side note...\r\nDinos aren't very well represented in the furry world. Dragon-type critters seem to be a dime a horde, but dinosaurs seem to come along very rarely.\r\nI've always loved dinosaurs ever since I was a little kid. ^^\r\nUlario says... "Draw more dinos!"

Friza - EAX Adoption

Finishing up the art that I owe other people...\r\nnow I'll be taking things a little slower.\r\n\r\nAdoption for Friza via the Equine Art Xchange since the person who had her last month apparently bailed out on her. :/\r\n\r\nI love ]drawing pin-ups.

Empyrean - Character Concept Art

Yeah. More quick character concept for my next gen story... It dosen't have an "official" name, yet... but I'm leaning towards "Nefarious Illusions".\r\n\r\nEmpy was originally meant to be a side character. But I ended up really liking her so I'm trying to find a way to bump up her importance in the story. \r\n\r\nCharacter sheet soon.

Mathazar's Fury

Re-design of an older character that I haven't drawn too often.\r\n\r\nThis was done for my upcoming art book.

LOL... sometimes I just have thw worst time thinking of titles... and what I end up coming up with is a corny pun. Wasn't that phrase used in the advertisements for Kung-Fu panda?\r\n\r\nAnyways... more pictures for my upcoming art book. I know I've been posting a good amount of them lately, but I promise there will still be some surprises for when the book comes out. \r\n\r\nNoria is my panda character whom I've only once before. Well... technically twice because I did start on a character sheet for her but never finished it. :/\r\n\r\nI usually want to shy away from anything Chinese related with this character because asian accents on panda characters are (understandably) a little over-done I think. But the bamboo brushes that I downloaded from hawksmont were just begging to be used. ^^\r\n

Soji Goes Rawr!

Alternate title: "Annoyed Dragon is Annoyed"\r\n\r\nAnother image done specifically for my upcoming art book. I wanted to get some more images of my quad dragon and gryphons characters in there. I hardly draw them. They need more lovings. \r\n\r\nSojitakakimu is one of my older characters, but I've only drawn him a few times. He's more of a side character in my stories and dosen't show up in them very much.\r\n\r\nI'm going to be very, very busy doing personal art from now until my art book is released. I'm planning on having it done for next year's convention circuit, which won't be until AT LEAST six months or so from now. So yah. Gonna be a big book. \r\n

The Jungle's Champion

Random art done specifically for my upcoming art book Na'Kata, my female quetzal battlemage character soars over a tropical jungle accompanied by a few feathered friends . It's only the second time I've drawn this chacter, which is a shame because I really like her.\r\n\r\nShe is a battlemage, meaning she is equally as good at spellcasting as she is with a bladed weapon. The runes on her forearm are symbolic of her chosen school of magik, which is energy/electricity.\r\n\r\nI'm mostly happy with how this turned out... though she has a standard sword rather then her trademark double sided sword (which is as tall as she is). Her double sword would have covered up too much of her in that position.\r\n\r\nI had a lot of fun with this one. I love drawing/coloring cute birdies. Especially colorful ones.

Senator Jan Nadien - Concept Art

Forty years after the great war ended, Thera has taken it's place among the Galactic Alliance. \r\n\r\nSenator Janceren "Jan" Nadien is Thera's first senator in the alliance. She was young when elected, but what she lacked in age, she more then made up for with intelligence and a kind, compassionate heart. \r\n\r\nShe tends to be a little naive, and is perhaps a bit quick to trust. After Risight Mur's attempt to muder her failed and he pinned the blame onto Andromeda, Senator Nadien believed every word that Risight said about Andromeda's alleged betrayal.\r\n\r\n-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\r\n\r\nQuick concept art. This one took about two hours from sketch to colors. I was mainly trying to get this character's design down on paper. More info on her when I finally get around to doing her character sheet.

An Unlikely Duo

Artist's Comments \r\nExiled from the alliance that she gave ten years of her life to, Andromeda meets Azail Jen, an ultimarian mercenary.\r\n\r\nA merc to the core, Azail was loyal to no one and only went where the next paycheck took him. Although there was good inside of him, it was almost completely overpowered by his darkness. \r\n\r\nHe was the type of person that Andromeda was too poud to associate herself with, but yet she found him intriguing. Azail himself found himself drawn to her because she was the only person who could bring out the good inside him.\r\n\r\nThey are now seen together at all times. For they are lovers... and they are inseperable.

Kenduseus - Concept Art

Relatively quick art.\r\nMore concept art for the next gen part of my story. I've yet to come up with an actual name for this series of stories.\r\n\r\nKenduseus is more of a side character in the story, but I still needed to get him out on paper.

Grand Imperial Dragon - Species Concept

More concept art for my "next generation" story. Some of the Ultimarian Senate guards ride on the backs of these noble creatures.\r\n\r\nI'm very happy with the design for this species... but I just realized that from the front view, they look a little bovine. ^^\r\n\r\nI'm planning on doing a reference sheet for this species... as well as ref sheets for several of the characters in my next gen story.\r\n\r\nBusy busy busy. I'm feeling very inspired to work on this story as well as designing some of the things in it. So there will most likely be a lot of new arts from me in the next few months. \r\n\r\nOn a side note... their appearance is based on a species that I created in Spore

Risight Mur - Concept Art

I've been working on this one off and on for the past few days to take a break from commission work.\r\n\r\nMore work/character designs for the "Next Generation" portion of the Azura't'oris Chronicles. \r\n\r\nRisight Mur serves as the "villain" of the story. Though he isn't truely "evil". He believes that his actions are for the good of Thera. He is basically a zealot that is against change... at all costs.\r\n\r\nI'm happy with his design. But not so happy about some parts of the line art. LOL.\r\nI designed him to be more leonine then most of my other gryphon characters. I've been meaning to draw a "maned" gryphon for quite some time. ^^\r\n\r\nI do plan on making a character sheet for him eventually... since there are some markings on his body that can't be seen in this picture.

Aralay - Concept Art

I've been working on this one on and off when I've had a minute for several days now.\r\n\r\nConcept art of a character from Andromeda's story. Aralay is a direct hybrid of the two Theran dragon species (actually she's the youngest daughter of my characters, Mag and Kaj).\r\n\r\nShe served as third in command in the same elite group as Andromeda. After Andromeda was exiled, she moved up to second in command. She is the only one who believes in Andromeda's innocence but cannot find a way to prove it.

Double Vision

Rather quick piece that I've been working on between commissions these last few days. \r\n\r\nI've always wanted to illustrate a battle between my Amaran characters, Cameron and Ran-Qui... and yes, they are twin sisters. \r\n\r\nThis one was fun to draw... yet difficult. I really need work on my multiple character interactions.

I Am Sith - Cameron Concept Art

A quickie. Done in about an hour and a half from sketch to color.\r\n\r\nMy alternate fursona, Ran-Qui the Amaran jedi has a twin sister that turned Sith shortly after the Mandalorian Wars. I've had her sister's design in my head and wanted to get her down on paper.\r\n\r\nLike Ran-Qui, Cameron is an Amaran... a race of vulpine aliens in the Star Wars universe. With her lightsaber, I didn't want to go with the cliche sith red. I got inspiration for her lightsaber from watching my husband play Force Unleashed. It's a polearm lightsaber... like the one Kazdan Paratus used... with a black crystal. 'Cuz the blac saber in that game just pwned. \r\n\r\nSomeday I'd like to draw a battle scene between Ran-Qui and Cameron.

Andromeda - Concept Art

I've been doing some work on the "next generation" part of the Azura't'oris universe, obviously. And for that, I needed a hero for that part of the timeline... an alternate fursona if you will.\r\n\r\nAndromeda (Andy for short) is a Theran Gryphon. She is isn't even born until around 10 years after Ulario's death. She is a warrior, still loyal to the alliance that turned it's back on her. \r\n\r\nMeh. I wanted to give her a more original name for her... but I couldn't get "Andromeda" out of my head. She is named for the galaxy rather then the figure from Greek Mythology so it fit her very well. Much more then an original name could I think. I hope to have a character sheet for her eventually. Since I am planning on using her as an alternate fursona, she will have one.

Random lion people.\r\n\r\nI've done several drawings while I've been away from the internet, but this is the only one I've colored thus far. I hope to get some of my other drawings colored and online eventually. :)

Wedding Imvitation - "Gryphon With Fleur De Lis"

The image for my wedding invitations. I'm gonna start working on my invitations tomorrow and I'm just finishing this now. Talk about procrastination. LOL.\r\n\r\nNot your standard wedding invitation image... but nothing about our wedding plans are standard or traditional.\r\n\r\nGryphon with a blue Fleur De Lis. The gryphon has been my personal symbol for years... and the Fleur De Lis is there because, well, my fiance is a Quebecer... and as he's always said "There's nothing that screams "Quebec" more then a blue fleur de lis". LOL.\r\n\r\nAnyways, the date is official. We're getting married on May 22... less then a month from now.

Ulario: Frog Kiss Avatar

Whipped up in about a half hour from sketch to color. All Photoshop. I used some experamental techniques with my avatar creators.\r\n\r\nI wanted a frog related avatar for LiveJournal since my BF is French Canadian. Nothing disrespectful or insulting meant by it... it's just a pet name that I call him that he finds very cute (My other pet name for him is French Fry... 'cuz he's tall and skinny).

Art Book Preview II

I've been so busy with my art book that I haven't had much time for personal art so I decided to upload another "teaser" page. \r\n\r\nRandom Ki'rin girl. Theran Ki'rins are just an offshoot of the Theran Unicorn species so they are meant to look more equine then a traditional ki'rin. No backstory to her, yet... but I'm very pleased with the design. I may come up with a name for her and draw her a little more in the future.\r\n\r\nThere will be one more teaser page released right before the book is available for sale. Mid April or so.

Gryphons and Nebulas - Book Cover

I've been secretly working on a art book...\r\n\r\nThe full title of the book is "Gryphons and Nebulas: The Art of the Azura't'oris Universe" and it features art related to my fictional universe. ALL new art... nothing that I've posted online already.It is exclusive art that will only be found in the book. I may post one or two pics from the book as a "teaser", though.\r\n\r\nI'm shooting to have it done in April (around the time of a certain Furry Convention up in my area), and I'm planning on making it about 50+ pages... though these may change depending on my schedule. \r\n\r\nBut yeah... this is the cover of the book minus the title. I decided to play with the title "Gryphons and Nebulas" a bit. The critter featured on the cover is DreamWalker, one of the five gryphon lords of Thera.
