I decided to give Libby a new look because she looked too much older then she really is (17 years) and her clothing style looked too much like Ulario's.\r\n\r\nShe's been a bit cutified, and her body is less matured then she once was.

Image: darkclouds.jpg   800x619 81002 bytes 2006.10.17

This was kinda an accidental picture. The background was supposed to be used for something else, but I didn't like how it turned outso I played around with things until I got what I have now. Dragon was put in because someone on DeviantArt once said they wanted to see me draw space dragons.

Dean - Character Concept

Character concept art of Dean, who you've seen before in a previous picture with Nareheda, my crime lord character.\r\n\r\nWhile Nareheda is more based on the 1930s New York City Mafia, Dean is more Yakuza based. He uses guns, swords, martial arts. Needless to say that he's a highly trained killer as opposed to a street thug like most stereotypical gang members.\r\n\r\nHe serves as Nareheda's personal bodyguard.\r\nThey have a "complicated" relationship. They are physically intimate and Dean truly loves her, but she sees him as little more then a "Cabana boy".\r\n\r\nOn a random side note... he usually dresses nice, in a suit but he takes his shirt off for sword-fights.\r\n\r\nHe will be featured in a short comic that I'm planning on doing eventually.\r\nMore info on him when his character sheet comes out.

Arcturus, my Anubis character. I wasn't planning on drawing this character again since she is part of a separate RPG game project I've been working on, not part of my main story. However, one of my friends said that he wanted to see more drawings of her, so here she is.

The Recordkeepers

This may not look like it, but this is actually a first pass drawing for my Denaq species. Usually my first pass drawings are nothing more then sketches and aren't nearly as "completed" as this, but I've already had the specific look for this species in my head.\r\nDenaq hail from the grassland planet, Aw'vor, and are generally regarded as being the "librarians" or "recordkeepers" of the Azure Wheel Universe as they tend to be very scholarly.\r\n\r\nThe female is standard black colored while the male is an color mutation. About 10% of Denaq have either white hair or white bodies. Completely white Denaq are very uncommon. The clothing shown here isn't 100% acurate.

Desert Sun

I've been coloring this picture almost nonstop for a good chunk of the day so now I'm tired. \r\n\r\nAnyways, since I've been drawing my Theran species I've decided to draw Theran terra dragon, which are more or less based on the euro-mythology dragons. This really isn't a typical terra dragon because she has a few rare mutations (the circlet of horns around the eyes as well as the folds of skin that resemble scales located just below the head). :p\r\n\r\nAnd yes, this dragon is female. Why? She just looked like one to me.

Desert Warrior

Those of you who pay attention to my scraps either on dA or Furaffinity have seen the line art for this one. I uploaded it over a month ago, but finally decided to take a break from commissions to finish it.\r\n\r\nA fennec fox breed Theran tests her might against one of these giant predators. Hard to say who has the upper hand since both are fully equipped for desert combat. \r\n\r\nI do adore fennecs, but a lot of the time when I see artists draw fennecs... they just don't look like fennecs to me. I wanted to try drawing my own since it's been a while since I've tried drawing one.\r\n\r\n

The Dice Are Trying To Kill Me...

This picture was originally a ten minute sketch that I did in my sketchbook and was not meant to see the light of day. The title was a quote from a T-shirt that John, my best friend has.\r\n\r\nI love Shae! He's my resident space nerd!\r\n\r\nHe likes to play table-top roleplaying games, so I imagined what a D&D type game in their universe would look like. Basically it includes a holographic board and "intelligent" dice.\r\n\r\nI'm in the middle of giving all of my human characters a much needed overhaul. I've been ignoring them for years, giving my "furry" characters all the attention. My heart isn't into making furry art like it used to, so I'd really like to focus my attention into my science fiction characters/story.

Double Vision

Rather quick piece that I've been working on between commissions these last few days. \r\n\r\nI've always wanted to illustrate a battle between my Amaran characters, Cameron and Ran-Qui... and yes, they are twin sisters. \r\n\r\nThis one was fun to draw... yet difficult. I really need work on my multiple character interactions.

Did I ever mention how much I hate rice paper? Well, I do!\r\n\r\nOkay, so I don't hate rice paper, I just hate trying to make it look like rice paper.\r\n\r\nAnyways, experamenting with interacting characters. I was a bit iffy about putting Kjata in a traditional male kimono because he's more of a western dragon... but I think he looks nice.

Dragonrider - Final

A female dragon rider with her dragon.\r\n\r\nSemi-inspired by the movie Eragon... even though I didn't like the move and thought that they ended it like they simply ran out of money (but I would like to read the book since I've heard it's really good). Since this dragon isn't a leathery-skinned Theran dragon (from my writings) it was kinda my chance to go nuts with the coloring. It was fun.\r\n\r\nImage 2007 Traci Vermeesch\r\nPlease do not copy, repost, alter, etc without the artist's consent!

Dragon Soul

... within his chest beats the heart of a dragon.\r\n\r\nAredon, the hero of my sci-fi stories with his totem animal, the dragon (I sort of consider him to be an otherkin). The dragon in this picture is more of a symbolic dragon rather then an actual dragon. While "true" dragons do exist in the Azura't'oris universe, they live on a world that his species knows very little about in the current timeline. As far as Ared knows, dragons are still mythological beasts.\r\n\r\nThis is really my first time working with individual scales on a dragon as all of my dragon characters have leathery skin. After doing this picture, I'm pretty happy about that fact. Doing all of those scales wasn't difficult... just painfully boring, tedious, and repetative.

Spirit Dragon - Species Reference

Though I've generally been trying to avoid drawing my own dragon characters lately, I figured that since I recently did a Species Sheet for my Theran Gryphons that it was only fair that I did species sheets for my Theran dragon species as well. Especially since these sheets are grat for using as references for commissions or exchange communities.\r\n\r\nThis one is for my Drakken'Re... or Spirit dragon species who are reminiscant of Chinese dragons. Species sheet for my Terra dragons (who are more based on European dragons) coming sometime in the near future... I hope.\r\n

The Druidess and Her Guardian

Brain! Y U NO think of better titles?!\r\n\r\nAnyways, a personal piece I did to take a break from calender commissions. As I've stated in previous pieces, I've wanted to branch a little more away from anthro art and start doing more high fantasy and sci-fi work to sell prints of at art shows and what not. I am in love with this dragon's face, who is t-rex based, obviously. I don't draw enough dino inspired dragons! :p\r\n\r\nI've been working on this off and on since yesterday. I'd actually like to make a series out of druid girls with mythological beast guardians. I might do that when I'm done with my current "to-do" list.

Image: DunesOfSyvor-watermarked.jpg   620x800 132221 bytes 2008.06.15

On the Dunes of Syvor

Part one of a series I'd like to do of my alien animals in their natural environments. Talokun are a race of huge desert reptiles (12 feet tall) and are the apex predator of the desert planet, Syvor. The name "Talokun" literally means "Diamond Head" in the native Syvorian language. They are obviously given that name because the crest and teeth allow the head to form a diamond shape. In galactic common they are called "Syvorian Dune Dragons"... though despite their name and draconic appearance, they are not true dragons. \r\n\r\nMy original idea for this picture was to have the dragon in front fighting a group of Syvorians with rifles... as the result of the two species wandering onto each other's territories is often bloody.

Image: eaglehead.jpg   381x500 28684 bytes 2006.02.07

This is my first ever completely digital piece. It was actually supposed to be a background for a different picture I was working on, but I decided I liked it as a stand-alone picture instead. I might still use it for that one pict I was working on. Who knows.\r\n\r\n

Empyrean - Character Concept Art

Yeah. More quick character concept for my next gen story... It dosen't have an "official" name, yet... but I'm leaning towards "Nefarious Illusions".\r\n\r\nEmpy was originally meant to be a side character. But I ended up really liking her so I'm trying to find a way to bump up her importance in the story. \r\n\r\nCharacter sheet soon.

An Evening Out - Commission

Another commissioned pic of NewEnglander's werebear character, Sheila.\r\n\r\nLet this be a public service announcement to all of you were-critters out there: Make sure you always know your transformation schedule... especially when you change time zones. \r\n\r\nAnyways... trying to finish up work that needs to be done 'cuz I just bought me a Wii (along with the NiGHTS game for the Wii... and the original Nights for the Saturn is one of my faaaaavorite games of all time) and I know that as soon as I start playing it no work will be done. \r\n\r\nExpect a short comic about this very same subject in the near future.
