Tropical Gryphon

Taking a quick break from working on comic commissions and such to do some personal art. This started as a quick sketch that I never intended to color, but I liked it so much that I decided to finish it.\r\n\r\nAnthro Gryphon Femme with Blue & Gold Macaw Foreparts and Jaguar hindquarters.\r\n\r\nAnd to those who saw this picture when it was still in the line art stage... I did come up with a name for her. Navari.\r\nHowever, I'm really not planning on working with her much as far as backstory and what not... but she's such a cool looking character that I probably will draw a few more pictures of her. I dunno... if I get enough positive response for her, I may make a backstory.\r\n\r\nI know you can't see it in this picture, but her hair has long, tiny braids in back that go almost down to her butt.

Trick or Treat 2008

Effin finally! Got this done! It's posted a little later then I normally like my annual Halloween pic to be... but this has been the month from helllllll!\r\nAdmittedly, I did have to rush a few parts... but I wanted to get it done before tomorrow.\r\n\r\nThe characters are as follows from left to right:\r\n\r\nRan-Qui as Fox McCloud:\r\nWell, the female version of Fox anyways. \r\n\r\nUlario as Lady Death:\r\nAll too late I remembered that earlier this year I had plans to dress her as Lara Croft for my halloween pic this year. D'oh!\r\n\r\nAredon as Professor Chaos:\r\nButter's supervillain alter ego from South Park. This specific version of Prof. Chaos was taken from the first episode form season 8 titled "Good Times With Weapons".

AJ- Character concept

Gift art is one thing... I'm willing to do occasional gift art for anyone I consider to be a close friend. However, a sure fire way to tell that you're special to me is if I base a character in my fictional universe off of you.\r\n\r\nMy friend, Azarus has become more like a big brother to me. Heck, I've talked to him about things that I would NEVER talk about with my real brother. \r\n\r\nAz and I somewhat collaberated on this character's design. The end result is AJ here. \r\nHe's an Ultimarian mercenary. He has a lot of darkness inside of him, but he still tres to do the right thing. And, just like Az, he speaks with a sexeh French accent. \r\nThe face is someowhat based on Neo from the Matrix, since Az in RL looks like the Canadian version of Keanu Reeves.

Mathazar - Concept Art

Yep. More playing around with ideas for the days of Ancient Thera. :o\r\n\r\nI want to play around with Ather and Mathy's concepts a bit more. I've already begun a character sheet for Atherdoru and want to do one for Mathazar as well... but it would be interesting to see the two in the same picture as well.\r\n\r\nThis picture itself was done relatively quickly. Mostly to lay down Mathazar's color scheme and markings. There are parts of the picture I'm happy with and others that I am indifferent about.\r\n\r\nFor more info on Mathazar click on more info...

Silver

Trying to find ways to merge my space art and illustration work together. I wasn't planning on going anywhere with this picture, but I liked what I had so much that I decided to finish it. Though I believe I did mess up the end result a little bit. LOL. It dosen't really bother me that much... I still like it.\r\n\r\nThe little critter in there is a Seraph (or Seratores in the Old Space-Born language)... one of my alien animal species. They're basically "living spaceships" as they can only survive in the depths of space. Seeing a Seraph is considered the holy grail of good luck for space travellers since they're so rare to see. To give you a sense of scale he'd be about 150 feet from nose to tail tip. \r\n\r\nI'm actually considering getting a tattoo of my seraphs in the distant future. \r\n

Wild Thang!

Personal art for a change. I started working on the line art while I was bored out of my mind because I couldn't access my laptop (Broken AC Adaptor). It was colored VIA two different sessions, one last night and one early this morning. \r\n\r\nIt's my character, Sylvan the lion/lynx/dragon hybrid. I love strange hybrid characters. They seem to make the fandom more interesting. \r\n\r\n

Ritual of Air and Fire

Finishing more work with my human characters. This has been sitting uncolored on my computer for a few weeks so today I finally decided to get off my ass and finish coloring it.\r\n\r\nTetra (AKA the Prince of Gryphons) is one of the main characters in my stories... and I haven't drawn him in a while... he needed more lovin'. I did change him a little bit. I mainly made him more masculine looking because I like my men to look like men. \r\n\r\nAnd yes... Tetra is Ulario's husband.

Spirit Dragon - Species Reference

Though I've generally been trying to avoid drawing my own dragon characters lately, I figured that since I recently did a Species Sheet for my Theran Gryphons that it was only fair that I did species sheets for my Theran dragon species as well. Especially since these sheets are grat for using as references for commissions or exchange communities.\r\n\r\nThis one is for my Drakken'Re... or Spirit dragon species who are reminiscant of Chinese dragons. Species sheet for my Terra dragons (who are more based on European dragons) coming sometime in the near future... I hope.\r\n

Ungulata: Semi-Request

I normally don't do requests. Period.\r\n\r\nBut when I was working on NewEnglander's latest commission, he mentioned his reindeer character in passing. I said that I had a reindeer character, myself but haven't drawn her in a number of years. He said that it would be interesting to see me draw her again. There aren't enough ungulates in the fandom... besides whitetails.\r\n\r\nSo. Here she is. Cassie the reindeer along with her boyfriend, Alex the bighorn. I haven't drawn either of these characters in about 4-5 years... so I decided to see what they'd look like in my current style. \r\n\r\nThis picture was done while I was stuck babysitting over the weekend and bored to tears. The drawing itself really was a quick sketch, but I did spend a decent amount of time on the coloring.

On the Dunes of Syvor

Part one of a series I'd like to do of my alien animals in their natural environments. Talokun are a race of huge desert reptiles (12 feet tall) and are the apex predator of the desert planet, Syvor. The name "Talokun" literally means "Diamond Head" in the native Syvorian language. They are obviously given that name because the crest and teeth allow the head to form a diamond shape. In galactic common they are called "Syvorian Dune Dragons"... though despite their name and draconic appearance, they are not true dragons. \r\n\r\nMy original idea for this picture was to have the dragon in front fighting a group of Syvorians with rifles... as the result of the two species wandering onto each other's territories is often bloody.

The Council Elder - Concept Art

Concept art for a secondary character. He's really only mentioned in my story once or twice so I'm not going to spend much time with him other then this quick concept art. He probably won't even get a character sheet.\r\n\r\nXagothrys is the elder on the Nyturis council. \r\nHe is a Terra dragon, but he has several mutations that most terra dragons do not have.

Stargazing

The final colored picture in my "Ran-Qui the Amaran Jedi" portfolio. ZOMG! I'm really digging that background. Particularly the clouds/stars reflecting off the water. Most of those things were purely experamental but I'm relatively happy with it.\r\n\r\nAlso, I've really grown attatched to this character. To the point where I consider her to be sort of an "alternate fursona". So yes, there will be more arts of her in the future.

Fallen Heroes

Pic 2 in my Ran-Qui the Amaran Jedi portfolio.\r\n\r\nSince she came from around that time period, I HAD to do something KOTOR related since it's easily my all time favorite video game. The first one anyways... the second one not so much. Probably because Carth wasn't in it very much and I have no shame in admitting that I've always been a bit of a Carth Onasi Fangirl. XD (He looked especially sexeh in the comic books).\r\n\r\nNot gonna say what the symbolism behind this piece is... because I like it when people come up with their own conclusions. However, I will say that it has nothing to do with her "falling to the dark side".\r\n\r\nThere are a few credits I need to give for this pic. Can be found on my dA page which is under more info.

Banzai!!!

Sorry. I couldn't think of a better title. I've been feeling very uncreative the last few days. :/\r\n\r\nAnyways, the first pic in my Ran-Qui series. I tried a few little experaments with the coloring that I think turned out fairly decent. I've got a few ideas for the other two pics in this series... I'm trying to tie Darth Revan into one of them because she lived dring that time period. (And KOTOR is probably my all time favorite video game...) \r\n\r\nI guess I've just been in a Star Warsy mood lately. XD

We Fight as One!

My submission for the In Game painting contest for Star Wars Galaxies. There are no good beastmaster paintings in game and since that is my faaavorite profession, I decided to make one.\r\n\r\nDamiat, my Bothan jedi/beastmaster character with his Rancor, Domokun. He's not my main character, but I decided to go with him instead of my main because I wanted to do the fur details.\r\n\r\nTo be honest... I'm not expecting to win... or even to get into the final six... but I had a lot of fun making this, which makes it worthwile. Interesting, though. In the line art stage I hated the way the rancor looked, but no that he's colored, I think he's my favorite part of the picture.

An Evening Out - Commission

Another commissioned pic of NewEnglander's werebear character, Sheila.\r\n\r\nLet this be a public service announcement to all of you were-critters out there: Make sure you always know your transformation schedule... especially when you change time zones. \r\n\r\nAnyways... trying to finish up work that needs to be done 'cuz I just bought me a Wii (along with the NiGHTS game for the Wii... and the original Nights for the Saturn is one of my faaaaavorite games of all time) and I know that as soon as I start playing it no work will be done. \r\n\r\nExpect a short comic about this very same subject in the near future.

Dragon Soul

... within his chest beats the heart of a dragon.\r\n\r\nAredon, the hero of my sci-fi stories with his totem animal, the dragon (I sort of consider him to be an otherkin). The dragon in this picture is more of a symbolic dragon rather then an actual dragon. While "true" dragons do exist in the Azura't'oris universe, they live on a world that his species knows very little about in the current timeline. As far as Ared knows, dragons are still mythological beasts.\r\n\r\nThis is really my first time working with individual scales on a dragon as all of my dragon characters have leathery skin. After doing this picture, I'm pretty happy about that fact. Doing all of those scales wasn't difficult... just painfully boring, tedious, and repetative.

Nerd Herd Ulario

We're gonna have a pineapple situation!\r\n\r\nSemi-Fan art pic. I'm a big fan of the TV show, Chuck... so I decided to draw my Fursona in the Nerd Herd uniform. Basically the Nerd Herd is a parody of Best Buy's geek squad. I think I'd make a good Buy More employee. \r\n\r\nThis picture actually started out of boredom and was just meant to be a quick pencil sketch but I liked it so much that I decided to color it. Relatively quick coloring job, but still fun. \r\n\r\n*NorthernFox said it looks very Shawn of the Dead... which I really agree with now that I think about it. I should have put a cricket bat in her hand and zombies on the ground. \r\n\r\nI gotta get a plushie of my fursona in the herder getup... or at least make myself an ID card because I think she looks cute in it. XD\r\n

The Way the Wind Blows

For the most part he's been sitting on my computer for the past few weeks and I've been working on him in bits and pieces in between working on other pictures. I had a certain picture in my head of what his markings should look like and getting them to actually look like that was a pain in the butt... but I think it's time to say that I'm finished with him. \r\n\r\nI am rather pleased with how he came out.

The Forest's Champion

Seske is the mate of my dragon character, Arril. In the back of my mind, I always had a picture of what he looked like but I never really thought to put him down on paper until this month's dragon swap on Livejournal, which was couples themed. I requested that he be drawn with arril and gave a rough description as well as a few reference pics to other dragons I've drawn that look similar to him. He's a earth elementalist that worships Iris, the goddess of nature. That explains the happy woodland critters.\r\n\r\nMeh. That reminds me. I've been severely neglecting the Theran gods and supernaturals the last few years. Must get around to working with them again... \r\n

Fearless

I'm still feeling like crap - but I've decided that I still wanted to finish some things before I started working on commissions again. My DeviantArt watchers probably recognize this picture as I've been posting he different steps that went into making this picture. It's taken me longer then I wanted to for me to finish because I had a craload of other pictures to work on, but I'm relatively happy with it.\r\n\r\nIt's mainly an experament with different things that I don't draw as often as I should: action, two character interactions, etc... it also gave me an excuse to use some new fur brushes that I downloaded.\r\n\r\nMy character, Suddah (the verin... or wolflike guy) needed a new color scheme deperately. I'm going to have to do a new character sheet for him with the new colorization sometime.

Fire and Water

Two of my mage characters. Asar'ii (Sun Conure Gryphon) the fire mage and Arril (Spirit Dragon) the water mage. I decided to incorperate a little bit of my space art techniques into the background since I haven't had any inspiration for space art in the last few months and I sort of miss doing it. :/\r\n\r\nI'm in the process of making character sheets for both of these characters as I type this.

Fire God - Revisited

I did a picture like this featuring this character about a year ago. Looking back on the picture, I liked the concept but my art has improved much since I made it.\r\n\r\nThe character is Feuer, the Theran God of fire who resembles a mix of the two Theran dragon species and has a line of flame running from the top of his head to the base of his tail.\r\n\r\n(And for you German speakers... Yes, I do realize that "Feuer" is German for fire... that's why I named him that. )

Nalronian Jedi

This drawing stems from my recent Star Wark kick. I'm blaming my BF for staring me on that because he's been watching the entire SW series. Anyways, Ran-Qui Teynryn, a Nalronian Jedi. Nalroni are a race of fox-like humanoids... and yes, they really do exist in the SW universe. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a whole lot of information about them aside from little snippets from Wizards of the Coast and Roleplaying sites, so this is mainly my interpritation of what I'd think they'd look like.\r\n\r\nThe planet in the Background is Corellia, Han Solo's homeworld. I tried to base it off of what it looks like in SWG but I don't think it worked out like I planned. But I still like it. \r\n

Trick or Treat - 2007

My annual picture of some of my characters in their Halloween costumes. \r\n\r\n(See if you can guess who they're supposed to be before reading further)\r\n\r\nFrom Left To Right...\r\n\r\nUlario Zemothe as Lara Croft. I decided to leave her hair down rather then braid it because she looked kinda funky with it braided. Also, I don't think her boobs are nearly big enough to be Lara. \r\n\r\nAredon Bredrit as King Leonidas. Okay, so I admit it. I've been wanting to dress him in Spartain threads ever since I first saw 300... which was the first day it came out in Theatres last March. \r\n\r\nTudyk Lyecera as the Noid. (Quoting Family Guy) Perhaps it was the Noid that should have avoided me!

BattleMage

Finished version of my dragon battlemage. \r\nI used a few experamental techniques in this one... such as a new technique of handpainting the magick fire.

River Dragon

The colored version of my River Dragon. I chose to go with muddy blues and greens... reminiscant of the rivers in my area. I had fun coloring him.

Flying Death

Tori, my Falcon/Fennec/Okapi gryphon character swoops down to run his katanas through a group of verin. The pose was somewhat inspired by anime... while I'm not a fan of most anime TV shows, I do like the action poses accosiated with them. Also, I love the marking on this character. He's such a blast to color.\r\n\r\nThis picture was actually intended to be a little gorier then it is. I decided to tone down the glood and guts because I decided to use this picture in an upcoming project. What is the project? I'm not going to spoil anything... but I will say that it is pretty big. So big, in fact, that I've put most of my other big projects on hold for a few months. I sure hope this project goes through. :/
