Eye of the Storm

I wanted to do something besides the concept art I've been doing lately. There are a lot of killdeer around my house this time of year. Those birds have such neat markings that I couldn't help but try and make a killdeer gryphon. He was originally going to have ocelot-like markings on his hindquarters but it looked too crowded so I stuck with the killdeer markings throughout his feline half.\r\n\r\nOn another note... making grasslands is fun. \r\n

The first one anyways... the second one not so much. Probably because Carth wasn't in it very much and I have no shame in admitting that I've always been a bit of a Carth Onasi Fangirl. XD (He looked especially sexeh in the comic books).\r\n\r\nNot gonna say what the symbolism behind this piece is... because I like it when people come up with their own conclusions. However, I will say that it has nothing to do with her "falling to the dark side".\r\n\r\nThere are a few credits I need to give for this pic. Can be found on my dA page which is under more info.

Fearless

I'm still feeling like crap - but I've decided that I still wanted to finish some things before I started working on commissions again. My DeviantArt watchers probably recognize this picture as I've been posting he different steps that went into making this picture. It's taken me longer then I wanted to for me to finish because I had a craload of other pictures to work on, but I'm relatively happy with it.\r\n\r\nIt's mainly an experament with different things that I don't draw as often as I should: action, two character interactions, etc... it also gave me an excuse to use some new fur brushes that I downloaded.\r\n\r\nMy character, Suddah (the verin... or wolflike guy) needed a new color scheme deperately. I'm going to have to do a new character sheet for him with the new colorization sometime.

Fedoras Pwn Joo!!!

Yes they do! Gryphon here is rarely ever seen without her fedora. The title for this pic comes from one of my many trademark phrases on MxO. Myself and Viper, one of my best friends in the game, are always arguing over which is better... Fedoras or Bandanas. \r\n\r\nGryphon is my Matrix Online Character. I haven't drawn a nice picture of her in over a year so I figured it was about time to do an updated one. I do have a little bit of a back story for her, but I don't want to bore anyone here. \r\n\r\nFedoras just seem to fit her... since in the game her clothing is usually reminiscant of a 1930s mafia.

The natives of the water planet, Nirayuskwar. They are amphibious and can live either in or out of water indefinitely... but MUCH prefer being in water to the point where most of them don't like leaving their homeworld.\r\n\r\nThis female is likely a city guard. Her full back display is opened, which is rare... as usually a Niray's back display is used only for attracting a potential suitor or deterring would-be predators. The spines of the tips of the back display do contain a venom that is toxic to most other sentiants, so Niray who have regular interaction with offworlders will often get the tips removed.\r\n\r\n\r\nTheir appearance is but a whisper of that of the earth species they evolved from... but the back display should give a little hint.

Fennec Fox Faerie. I did this picture for several reasons:\r\n\r\n1. I wanted to draw a fennec.\r\n2. I wated to draw something more "feminine" then usual\r\n3. It's been ages since I've drawn anything with insect wings.\r\n\r\nThe cloud background was another experament, but I love how it turned out. Looks just like clouds. :)

I decided it was time to give some of the deities in my story a well-needed make-over. I decided to change Feuer, god of fireinto a more easternish-looking dragon... and of course, keeping the line of fire that runs along his back.\r\n\r\n"He writhes amongst the clouds. We Fight as One!

My submission for the In Game painting contest for Star Wars Galaxies. There are no good beastmaster paintings in game and since that is my faaavorite profession, I decided to make one.\r\n\r\nDamiat, my Bothan jedi/beastmaster character with his Rancor, Domokun. He's not my main character, but I decided to go with him instead of my main because I wanted to do the fur details.\r\n\r\nTo be honest... I'm not expecting to win... or even to get into the final six... but I had a lot of fun making this, which makes it worthwile. Interesting, though. In the line art stage I hated the way the rancor looked, but no that he's colored, I think he's my favorite part of the picture.

Fire and Water

Two of my mage characters. Asar'ii (Sun Conure Gryphon) the fire mage and Arril (Spirit Dragon) the water mage. I decided to incorperate a little bit of my space art techniques into the background since I haven't had any inspiration for space art in the last few months and I sort of miss doing it. :/\r\n\r\nI'm in the process of making character sheets for both of these characters as I type this.

The Fire Bearer

Drawn after several people asked my to draw more dinosaurs and a conversation with ArchTeryx,\r\n\r\nArchaeopteryx girl... obviously a fire mage. I really like this character design, too good for being just a one time use character so you may be seeing more of her. \r\n\r\nI know archaeopteryx probably weren't as brightly colored or had such extravagent tails. Maybe she's part phoenix. I dunno. \r\n

The Flamecaller

I feel accomplished. This is the first REAL piece of personal art that I've completed in a long time. Most of the things I've been working on for fun have been sitting in my sketchbook unfinished.\r\n\r\nAnyways, random black lion girl. I've tried a few new techniques for her. Some I like... some not so much.

This picture start out as a "Bored in Art History Class" drawing, but I liked it so I finished it off.

Fire God - Revisited

I did a picture like this featuring this character about a year ago. Looking back on the picture, I liked the concept but my art has improved much since I made it.\r\n\r\nThe character is Feuer, the Theran God of fire who resembles a mix of the two Theran dragon species and has a line of flame running from the top of his head to the base of his tail.\r\n\r\n(And for you German speakers... Yes, I do realize that "Feuer" is German for fire... that's why I named him that. )

Flying Death

Tori, my Falcon/Fennec/Okapi gryphon character swoops down to run his katanas through a group of verin. The pose was somewhat inspired by anime... while I'm not a fan of most anime TV shows, I do like the action poses accosiated with them. Also, I love the marking on this character. He's such a blast to color.\r\n\r\nThis picture was actually intended to be a little gorier then it is. I decided to tone down the glood and guts because I decided to use this picture in an upcoming project. What is the project? I'm not going to spoil anything... but I will say that it is pretty big. So big, in fact, that I've put most of my other big projects on hold for a few months. I sure hope this project goes through. :/

The Forest's Champion

Seske is the mate of my dragon character, Arril. In the back of my mind, I always had a picture of what he looked like but I never really thought to put him down on paper until this month's dragon swap on Livejournal, which was couples themed. I requested that he be drawn with arril and gave a rough description as well as a few reference pics to other dragons I've drawn that look similar to him. He's a earth elementalist that worships Iris, the goddess of nature. That explains the happy woodland critters.\r\n\r\nMeh. That reminds me. I've been severely neglecting the Theran gods and supernaturals the last few years. Must get around to working with them again... \r\n
