Liah And Nimbus - Concept Art

Quick Concept Art.

Some of my watchers will recognize Liah, but her companion is probably completely unknown.

Nimbus is a cobyth (or Grand Imperial Dragon as some in the Azure Wheel Universe like to call them). Cobyths are draconic in appearance, but are just as much dragons as platypus are ducks. Cobyth actually evolved from an archaeopteryx type creature.

Liah rescued Nimbus when he was just a pup. His wing was badly injured and part of it had to be amputated (Not shown here in this picture, obviously). A cobyth who cannot fly usually cannot live a normal life, but Liah gave him a purpose. He now acts as a transport, carrying Liah or the other crew members swiftly across rough terrain or battlefields.

Paladin

Pic 3 for my "Beefcake" series. Technically this was supposed to be the 4th picture in the series, but I didn't like the lineart for the third enough to color it so I decided to take a break from that one before I redid the line art to do another one.

This is Lucien, my unicorn paladin character, Champion of the Goddess, Ihlosi. I haven't drawn him in years... but have been wanting to for some time. Lucien isn't a peaceful, serene unicorn like in many legends... he's more of a powerful, noble creature because lets face it... the wrath of a god SHOULD be scary.

I had fun making this picture, particularly the little folds of the cloak. That's something I felt that I really needed practice with.

Honestly, this picture was supposed to be of a random anthro... and I didn't plan on finishing it. However, I though he looked so cool that I decided to make him a new character for my story. His name is Lucien, and he is a unicorn paladin.

Mathazar - Concept Art

Yep. More playing around with ideas for the days of Ancient Thera. :o

I want to play around with Ather and Mathy's concepts a bit more. I've already begun a character sheet for Atherdoru and want to do one for Mathazar as well... but it would be interesting to see the two in the same picture as well.

This picture itself was done relatively quickly. Mostly to lay down Mathazar's color scheme and markings. There are parts of the picture I'm happy with and others that I am indifferent about.

Maverick

I really don't have much to say about the actual picture, because it's basically meant to be practice drawing a new character but I am happy that I finally made an anthro character that uses a three sectioned staff as it is probably my favorite weapon. It is amazing to watch someone using one properly... though most of the time when there is one in a movie it is not used properly. The only movie that I can think of that correctly uses one is Jet Li's Fearless (excellent movie, BTW).

I was looking through a Arthur Spiderwick book when I saw a picture of a mermaid with a lobster tail rather then the standard fish tail. I thought it was cool and unusual so I tried to do my own version of a lobster tailed merman. The blue coloring was based on that of a rare blue lobster that belonged to my boyfriend's cousin. If I add this species to my story, this particular breed of mermaid would probably hail from the semi tropical regions of Ascaroth.

Obscure Animal Alphabet - A

This is the first picture in my Obscure Animal Alphabet project. The idea behind the project was making an animal alphabet book like those that you give to children, but instead of using common animals like "B is for bear", "W is for wolf" and "Z is for Zebra" I'm using animals that most people don't know much about.

I am challenging myself to not only draw animals that aren't very common, even in the furry world but also to incorperate different parts of the people and places that each animal lives into each picture.

This will be a side project, so it may take me a while to finish... but I hope to have the book available by next year's convention circuit. I will only be publicly releasing 2-3 more pages of this book as I work on it. The rest will be available from the book alone.
