I had a hard time getting up this morning.

Fearless in fighting, ruthless in raids, fleet of foot and fat of form, the brave berserk, the war-hardened servants of the war-god, the great Battle Hamsters of the North!

I'm not sure of much in life, and I think I get less sure all the time. However, I am still dead certain that if crows could use matches, we'd all be in a world of hurt.

The Fairy Godmouse, who visits downtrodden mice in the night, magically changing the lucky rodent into the prettiest carrier of hantavirus at the ball, and leaving gifts in the silverware drawer for the rest of us.

I have been wanting to paint a dodo griffin for weeks now. He's obviously pretty polite, though--he isn't even complaining about having to use those mouse-sized teacups. Acrylic, 16 x 20.

Another small and silly Burch-inspired piece. The starnose mole is dreadfully underrepresented in art, and the Disco starnose is even worse.

The pink lizard meets the dodofish!

Unable to resist the sketch charms of the bug-eyed dodo-fish, I did a quick watercolor of the Ascent of Dodo.

At long last, after many travails--particularly that awful thing with the water buffalo and the kumquat, he'd be waking up screaming for years after THAT--the hooded donkey had arrived, his goldfish at the ready. Nothing could stop him now!

A companion piece to "Cuttlefish Hat." I firmly believe that there is no creature in nature quite so beautiful as the walrus.

Because if pigs could fly--they'd be a real nusiance. Or something like that.

I actually just wanted to paint checkerboard tile, but once again, I outwitted myself...

Farmer Snoggle just couldn't figure it out. The salesman had said that the Plow Potato could clear as much land as a team of oxen, but once he had it in harness, it just laid there. Not even dangling a stick of butter in front of it seemed to get it moving.

He was even beginning to suspect that maybe the salesman hadn't been entirely honest with him.

Being a tax collector for the warlike Piggy-Wiggy tribe is a lousy job, but somebody's gotta do it.

Fed up with the Porcupine Shaman cruelly popping his totems, Norgle, servant of the mighty Balloon Animal spirit, summons a fearsome Battle Balloon, and wreaks a soggy vengeance.

The other shamans laughed at Norgle's Balloon Animal Totem, but he'd show 'em. He'd show them all!

The renowned lizard warriors of Etrajen are best known for their hardy desert slugs. From the original cave slug stock, they have created a fearsome battle gastropod, capable of withstanding the heat of the desert and going without water for up to fifteen minutes at a time.

I can explain! Really! All my rock formations always look really phallic, and I figured I'd try to get it out of my system. Err. Yeah. And it needed a horrified lizard to balance it all out. Um. Yeah.
