Crikey Duck! is a roughly twice-a-month comic centered around three American con artists who, along with $20M, seek refuge in an Australian sharehouse from an angry mob boss. This image, like the comic, is a collaborative effort.

And Ranger is still at the nightclub... ;) I actually inked this in Illustrator - an undertaking that convinced me that, while it may make my job as colorist easier, digital inking makes my head hurt.

Ranger, Zakiya and Darrell go to a nightclub. Antics ensue.

1024x768 136171 bytes 2006.02.22
The Naromi have since been renamed Sabanaki, but Arqueran remains much the same - arrogant, conniving, hedonistic, imperious... and SHINY, thanks to the scales ;)

Art Exchange for Chibiqueen of her otter-fae. There was a line in her description which read: "she has problems with putting on clothes, even when it's neccessary". I decided to take that literally, so here she's attempting to put on a pair of shorts :3

885x680 154997 bytes 2006.02.22
Commission for M. and her boyfriend, Errin :D Neither she or her boyfriend are in the furry fandom, but M. put a lot of thought into what type of animal they'd be most like - a red panda and a sea otter, respectively. And look, she's even distracted him enough to put down his favorite rock!

| Image: comm-aeothen.jpg
778x670 71408 bytes 2006.02.22
Commission for Aeothen (bought by a friend of his), of his snow fox fursona. I really tried to get him to look like an actual snow fox, as opposed to merely a normal fox that happened to be white O_o

543x800 64631 bytes 2006.02.22
Commission for C Eagle, of himself! It was nice to break out and draw in a slightly different way.

Commission for Lee of her ducky character, Dala :3

2nd commission for Lako :) Photoshop 7.

672x520 86708 bytes 2004.09.11
A trade with J.C. of she and her boyfriend Kovu. I decided to use markers and prisma pencils for this one, but quickly realized I was a bit out of practice! ;) It's easy to tell where I started getting the hang of it again... J.C.'s shorts, Kovu's hair, in particular. Oddly, a particular shade of brown I'd used on both figured scanned in as a bright vermilion O.o

| Image: geckovix.jpg
448x720 45912 bytes 2004.09.11
A picture of..... me! Well, my new fursona, anyway. Gecko!Vix ;D The shading on this is very soft and simple overall, but I am quite proud of that hair.

| Image: trade-keelin.jpg
582x670 79096 bytes 2004.08.30
Keelin! For Mersades. I remember seeing her artwork a couple of years ago and thinking that one day I would draw this character, simply because of his hair, so I was over the moon when I was asked to draw him in trade. I love the shininess she colors his hair with, and attempted to emulate that. I'm a sucker for shininess.

| Image: trade-emrenni.jpg
315x745 51894 bytes 2004.08.15
Well, this would be the oddest furry I've drawn to date ;) Emrenni is a porcupine/goat/snake... I had so much fun with the colors here, and finally got to play with my new tablet! Wanted to give her scales a bit of a shine, though I tried not to go overboard with it.

| Image: armifullc.jpg
402x708 66286 bytes 2004.08.12
Armi Kerane, my numbat character for use in the general furry fandom. He's a sweet, social guy, a bit of an epicure, whose life mostly revolves around his disabled sister, Kia. I'll be drawing her soon, too :) As far as this pic goes, I was trying to get his colors finalized. The background was added on a whim.

| Image: trade-robsbc.jpg
600x660 88673 bytes 2004.08.11
Rob, for SilverBobcat... he's part fox/something, and part mercicyte, one of SBC's original critters. I originally drew and scanned a full body pic, only to come to the conclusion that the latter part of the body was really badly drawn, so I cropped it and tried to make up for this with the coloring. :)

| Image: trade-ritaram.jpg
294x700 46337 bytes 2004.08.03
Rita, for Ramires, in her cabaret outfit because I was quite taken with it. Tried my hand at some highlights in this one, which I usually avoid due to my not being able to pull it off too well ;)
| |
| Image: trade-aura.jpg
805x402 90249 bytes 2004.08.03
Trade with Aura Moser, of her unicorn character; and she did an extremely awesome pic of Darrell for me! Not quite sure what my mind was thinking with the background, but I'm really happy with this one regardless. Look! Sparklies! XD
| |
| Image: trade-catrabbit.jpg
538x783 87957 bytes 2004.07.28
My part of a trade with Social Degenerate. It's a sneaking rabbit-cat, with a stretchy top! ;) I wasn't sure what the tail would look like, so I went for an extended bobtail. And look! Hair shinies! :D

| Image: comm-2wolves.jpg
573x710 83669 bytes 2004.07.23
Commission for Lako, of his character and namesake embracing a female wolf. I tried out a different style of shading for this one, using multiple layers. The background of trees is part photograph, and part my sitting on the computer for an hour and a half in Photoshop 7.0 and Painter Classic. Lako and white wolf (c) Lako. Art (c) Vicki Eden, 2004.
| Image: grouphug.jpg
670x635 89330 bytes 2004.07.23
The avianized Barflies girls (clockwise from top, "Crow" Steele, myself, and Tania Walker) glomp Darrell Evenfeather, who looks thoroughly unimpressed by the whole thing. Photoshop 7.0, 2004. Darrell is (c) Vicki Eden; the rest are all (c) ourselves.
| Image: endersitting.jpg
345x700 42711 bytes 2004.07.22
Ender, sitting randomly on open air because I slaughtered the background something awful. But look! I got his HAIR right! XD He's Crow's sweet, shy, deadpan soldier-turned-thief, and one man killing machine ;) No, we all love him, really. He never appeared in the original "Cutest BOTB Character" poll because he'd have won hands down. Ender is (c) Crow.
| Image: leash_nbg.jpg
383x748 67589 bytes 2004.07.22
Zakiya keeps Darrell on a tight leash... literally! ;) Handcuffs, collar, what next? ...Or perhaps that's something we really don't want to know. Photoshop 7.0, 2004. Zakiya is (c) Tania Walker, Darrell (c) Vicki Eden.
| Image: firedrake.jpg
800x516 97235 bytes 2004.07.22
And this is why you don't want to get Ranger mad. Picture titled "Firedrake", because I can never resist a fun, although it's also referred to as the "flaming pinwheels of death". There's some Polynesian influence in the way I drew the flames; I could have made it more realistic, but I prefer the stylized, cartoon look. Photoshop 7.0, 2004. Ranger (c) Vicki Eden.
| Image: tabsriver.jpg
700x646 87225 bytes 2004.07.22
An early art trade with Tania; after milling around for a month unable to draw what I wanted, I suddenly found myself sketching one afternoon, liked it, and this is what eventuated. So here is Tabs Tailey, (c) Tania Walker, lying beside a river. Photoshop 5.0, 2003.
| Image: kiyadesolate.jpg
356x750 57685 bytes 2004.07.22
Even Zakiya has days when she can't pretend any more. I'd been meaning to draw this pic for some time, even had a fair idea of what it had to look like. When Tania won FurArtXchange, I figured that was as good an excuse as any. Zakiya (c) Tania Walker (http://www.furtales.com). Photoshop 7.0, 2004.
| Image: rosequoll.jpg
754x364 67187 bytes 2004.07.22
Rose Quoll (http://www.quadrupedaljellybean.com), done as an entry for artXchange. Decided to do a different angle with the shadows; I think it turned out pretty well :) Photoshop 7.0, 2004. Character (c) Rose.
| Image: delauney.jpg
370x700 70396 bytes 2004.07.22
With Del, it's difficult to know whether you should be fascinated or disturbed. His idea of a good time is making other people bleed. My view of him is a bit of both... but he's certainly a fun character to draw. Del is (c) Scarlett (http://www.avianity.net). Photoshop 7.0, 2004.
| Image: ayaphasi.jpg
573x652 81556 bytes 2004.07.22
Aya Phasienne-Cristatel, a very beautiful character from Solange (www.cybernixie.com). This is my half of an art trade with her; she drew Ranger for me. I really enjoyed doing this one, even though the cape flowing out the back gave me a serious headache... Photoshop 5.0, 2003. Aya (c) Emilie Pellenz
| Image: nomad.jpg
463x620 87009 bytes 2004.07.22
Nomad, the solitary, antisocial pirate captain of my "Clockwork Citadel" project, who reluctantly takes on board two crazy Fleet cadets on the run from the law. He's a fancy dresser, but quite a reserved character. Photoshop 5.0, 2004. (c) Vicki Eden.
