Brute Force - Colouring Experiment

This is the Brute Force pic with a lick of colour! I started with just the base "wash" as I always do with markers. However I noticed that the new TRIA's, which I decried so loudly not long ago, blended rather well.

I need to refine my technique a bit and the scanner didn't pick up on the more subtle blends (hyena's foot and the upper lion's bollocks for exampe) but I am happy with the result!

Tiger in a Doorway (WIP)

Pretty self-explanatory!

This was inked using a 0.05 pen, the thinnest of the 5 thicknesses I use, the others being 0.8, 0.5, 0.3 and 0.1. However I have plans for this pic that don't require my "layered" style of inking.

A male cheetah in a "stretching" pose.

Speed drawing (less than 2 hours from blank sheet of cardstock to scanning) to prove to myself, more than anyone else, I can draw without reference pics and constant referral to anatomy books! The pose just came into my head and it seemed a natural choice for a lithe cheetah male to pull off!

The idea behind this short series is that the younger lion (on bottom) tried his luck in taking over the older lion's pride. Sadly youthful enthusiasm lost out to age and experience...still, I'm sure he'll learn his lesson!

Tablet Colouring Practice 2 - WIP

Things are going slower than I imagined. A PC crash wiping out a whole layer didn't help and lost me an hour's work! >.< Saved much more often after that!

Because I am trying to emulate my markers/pencil style of colouring with the tablet it means a lot of colour layering. If anything I am over cooking it slightly as it's a bit too dark but it could be worse!

Stopping for tonight as it's late and I have wankers cramp! >.<

Canon (Take 2 - WIP)

For a while now I have been working on a "Canon" story for Wardy. So far I am still thrashing out the details but one thing that is set in stone is that he was once a high-ranking member of a mercenary fighter pilot squadron (I'm using Wardy in an RPG where he is exactly that) who "retires" to an Air America style operation as a relief-drop pilot. When shot down he is rescued by a Pride living in the traditional way. Whilst there he discovers they have a human slave...the rest will be revealed later.

FYI - Back in 2003 I became disillusioned with drawing in "Disney" style and so sat down and thrashed out the bones of what would become my own style. The pic I produced was of Warrior and although it was a steaming pile of wank, you can see the beginnings of my style.

Welcome Home

Coming home from work, stressed and in need of relaxation, I head up the stairs and see hersitting there waiting for me. Saleena, my sweet little nerdy hyena girl. "Welcome home, honey" she whispers and idly drops her thong panties at my feet.
