5 hours with Painter 7, testing my patient. The end result, rather good I may say so myself, yet I messed up on the paws...as usual.
(Used two reference images to pull this one off.)

Huge image, but I thought it would be nice to share some wolf basics on this site :)

But as always, do not rely heavily on this image alone. It is recommended that you look in reference books as I did.

Because I'm bored and I haven't done one of these for a while. I wuv dobermans. They be my favourite. All other dogs suck!!

-A decent looking red and tan doberman. I guess he's the American type (hence the 'lankier' build).

-I base all my beasties on the doberman's body. Shocking isn't it? Yes, that includes dragons and werewolves. Then I build on that base, adding or subtracting muscles, making the feet bigger and so on.

-Now you know my secret... >.>;

I haven't drawn a doberman in ages, and was irritated by some, so called 'realistic' dobermans .

Dobermans do not have tan undersides (the groin yes, but not covering the rear all the way to the chest).

This is an example of the UK standard doberman (hence the uncropped ears and 'heavier' build)

I can't say I'm getting any better with the fur effects...

Not truely an edit, rather a re-submission. The former image looked too plain...too blurry, too blah.

So I went over and shaded it, and now it doesn't hurt your eyes as much.

Yes I know the body fits crudely with him, and yes I know the head is very off centre. I would correct it, but the original picture is no longer in my possession.

Ahh, I was having a peace of mind, and decided to draw a cute dog out of the Encyclopaedia of Dogs book. Alas someone took the book out (this was a library book) and was unable to finish it. Soooo I made it onto a weimaraner instead (plus it was easier to colour)
That explains the roman nose dog show people

Ack! Please excuse the crude colouring. I don't have any fancy colouring programs, and I'm stuck with MSpaint. (Weeps to self) It turned out pretty good.
